This is one of the truest quotes around, and yet so many people do not believe it. They think happiness is made from the amount of possessions you have, they think that a big house, a fancy car and lots of holiday’s will make you happy. Most people out there think that if they just won the lottery, if they just had that pay rise, then they would have happiness. What they don’t realise is that while more money might make life a bit (or lot) easier, it’s not going to make you more happier.

There are people out there with very little, and people who choose to have very little possession’s, and a lot of these people are happy. They are not looking for big amounts of money, they have learnt that happiness comes in other forms.

If I had a big fancy car, it wouldn’t do anything for me, in-fact I would be too afraid to drive it so it would be a waste of a car, and if I wasn’t afraid to drive it then that would mean that I had lost the knowledge of the value of money, and would be a much different person. Would I still have the same friends with this different attitude of mine? If I had lots of money then I know it would probably bring a lot of problems as well, as money can bring out the worst in people, so all those people that we think would be happy for us, would they really?

What would be the point in having lots of things, if you didn’t have people to share these things with? I can’t imagine anything worse than having a big massive house, with lots of very expensive things in it, and nobody to share it with. How lonely would your life be then?

Having lots of things may bring short term happiness, but in the end they won’t bring you true happiness, that has to be found in other ways.
