Philosophers of the Renaissance Era

A few key philosophers of the renaissance era (1450 AD – 1600 AD) and their impact on society both then and now.

So in conclusion, Descartes, Galileo, and Martin Luther were all major philosophers in the Renaissance Era, their works and ideas of there are forever engraved in human history as some of the greatest philosophical and scientific achievements ever. Descartes’ Scientific Method is responsible for countless scientific discoveries ever since he created it, and it is still used everyday by scientists around the world. Galileo’s discoveries he made with his telescope completely re-wrote what we know about our existence in the universe and the science of how our solar system works around us. His discoveries showed us that we are most definitely not the center of our universe, but simply a tiny planet revolving around a sun, in a tiny solar system in a little galaxy in a part of the universe. Martin Luther is responsible for revolutionizing how people think and act around their faith. He showed that organized religion was unnecessary, and preached that a simpler one-on-one worship with God was the way to go. He preached that there was no need to depend on reason for proof of God’s existence, just faith and trust that something was up there. These three philosophers are forever going to be in history for their works and impacts they had in the Renaissance Era, and the history of human thought.
