Quotes to Live by – on Work and Life
Quotes to Live by – On Work and Life.
A good phrase is one of the best things ever. An appointment may well have the power to completely alter the lifetime of a person and change the path of destruction are. This particular quote comes to live my favorite time of the ancient world. I’m not sure why, but it seems that there is an indefinable something extra spark you get when you read a powerful quote comes from several thousand years. When a culture so different from mine, which already exists in a completely different time and place, writes something that resonates strongly with me is something special with him, bringing a sense of wonder and fear comes from the fact that someone in a culture so far away even cause the wisdom of life and profoundly affect a person who grew up in the bustle of a modern city. And yes, this is one of my favorite quotes from my life in ancient China in the Tao Te Ching:
“He who stands on tiptoe does not stand firm. He who comes forward will not go away. Anyone who tries to shine dims his own light. He who defines himself can not know who he really is. He who has power over others can not afford. Anyone who clings to his work will create nothing that endures.
I like to, first, how the full citation is entered into the verses opposite, ie, everything is black and white. There is one side and the other side. It helps me see more clearly when I think things in black and white. Each of these pairs is important enough to be an invitation to live and this song resonates with me all but the last two pairs of speech especially powerful for me. “He who has power over others can not afford.” Is not it true when you stop to think. The only person who can and should control is myself.
But my favorite is the last game, “He who clings to his work will create nothing that endures. This year has been one of the many failures for me. I worked very hard on many projects and gradually been seeing many of them fail. My first reaction was to simply maintain it, keep trying, be diligent. But it was just fills me with stress and anxiety. Learning not to cling to the work I’m certainly one of the most difficult, but also one of the most important lessons I have learned.
And finally, I also like the middle match, because it runs so strongly with the American Philosophical current mentality. “He who defines himself can not know who he really is.” Current philosophy of America, said that each of us creates his own meaning and each of us and defines itself. But after that, and also wish for the true meaning and definition of what it really means to be human exists outside of us. Defines us, not define it. When a person defines and gives himself feel How can we really say whether one is real?
