Reason Without Logic

This is just one of paradoxes in our postmodern world. Everything from scientific theories to social foundations must have evidence in order to be acceptable but strangely enough it doesn’t need to be logical at all.

In the twenty first century “common sense” is no longer common. I am sure that if most ancient philosophers could sit down and debate present day thinkers they would sure enough “flip”.

During their philosophical career all debates and research had to be based on logic.

If the theory wasn’t logical it had to go because it just wouldn’t work in real life.

Today it has to have some evidence and immediately it is being accepted as scientific fact.

Technological advances that we enjoy today would not be possible without logic which in turn governs math; even in physics Albert Einstein for example achieved such enormous breakthroughs, because he relied heavily on logic. Things didn’t have to seem possible for him as long as they made logical sense, even without having evidence; he knew that evidence will eventually come.

It is happening today. Scientists got hold of a better telescope and found out that black holes are not empty! Just as Einstein has predicted and instead of following this path of undeniable success we are throwing out the key to it, that is logic.

Think for a moment about such a concept as infinity which means that something doesn’t have an end. Without this concept we would never get to present digital age.

Almost every single person is reaping the benefits of it in everyday life in one way or another.

Infinity has a twin called eternity pertaining to time instead of numbers , yet still being one and the same thing but majority of scientific body rejects it and places it into a box called religion while propagating the most outrages theories as legitimate science.

Big Bang theory is one example of this practice. All of us experience the law of cause and effect, whole universe is governed by it. Who in his right mind would entertain the thought of something coming from the state of total chaos by itself into a very complex order?

I am sure that teenagers would like that idea but even they know that their messy room will never get itself cleaned up , even if it had billion years for it.

They know that Mom is going to take care of it eventually. I don’t advise parents to succumb to that by the way.

One thing is sure that if this trend continues in science our progress in it will stop.

Future only will tell but it will be determined by the road we choose today.
