Reputation and Vanity

An article that highlights the link between reputation and vanity.

People mostly define reputation as a form of public opinion to a certain individual. Different people have different views about reputation. Some perceive it negatively while others remain optimistic about it.

Isn’t it just a mere opinion?

A pessimistic point of view would suggest the valuing of reputation as a form of vanity. However, for some people who remain optimistic about it don’t just define it as a mere opinion, but a basis of one’s credibility.

Quite a lot of individuals these days value money more than their reputation. In their view, the escape from starvation is more important. Most of these people got lost from the right track of life. The misconception of forgetting to value reputation for the primary essential commodity, hunger, have mostly brought them to the stage where trust and respect become difficult to gain. On the other side of the picture, those who don’t lose hope of living a decent life by their hard work and those with career that depends on their reputation leveled up and continue to inspire others for a good deal to live a better life. They don’t get lost for the wicked ruling of money over life.

But what is more important is how we know ourselves and our preference in life that accordingly corresponds to the health of the whole society.

You know what! I have seen people kicking out their parents for their reputation. Money and reputation both make human beings blind.

I agree with you! we have people here in my country who are outright thieves of government funds, and because they are loaded with ill gotten wealth, they think they have reputation because the money seem to wash away the filth off their names!
