The Actuality of Reality

How the world came into existence, recent scientific studies supporting these claims, and why Christianity is false and highly controversial.

The list of parallels between Christianity and pagan beliefs goes on and on. “The virgin birth, bringing of dead people back to life, miraculous healing, exorcisms, transfiguration, crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, and the return of a Christ to judge humanity” (Robinson) is of pagan origin. These parallels are not minuscule. Each match attacks a fundamental belief in Christianity.

The majority of people are unaware of the truths concerning Christianity. Because people have just assumed truth, they have not thoroughly looked at the authenticity of Christianity. The contradictions have not gone unseen by everyone. Saint Augustine is a prime example of someone who has recognized the similarities between Mithraism and Christianity. His explanation was that the Devil had the foresight to predict Jesus’ coming, and was able to create false beliefs before Christ came to earth (Robinson). Blaming the Devil is a typical response in the Christian faith. If something bad happens, it was caused by the Devil. This type of reasoning has allowed Christianity to debunk any contradictions set against it.

Because of the contradictions of Christianity, many beliefs have to be questioned or even completely abandoned. Liberal Christians see the parallels as proof of the falsehood of the gospels. If all of the supernatural happenings in the gospels are taken out, there is only the natural left. The story would tell of a Jew, who taught though parables and greatly influenced his culture. (Robinson)

Some claim that the similarities are only a coincidence. This cannot be true due to the immense amount of parallels. There are over two hundred precise matches between Jesus and the Egyptian sun god, Horus. Krishna, a Hindu god, has three hundred forty-six analogies with Jesus. The Dead Sea Scrolls have many inscriptions similar to the Book of the Dead. The Book of the Dead is a collection of inscriptions of ancient Egyptian philosophies regarding the afterlife. The Dead Sea Scrolls are dated back to 1000 BCE, while the Book of the Dead is dated back to 3000 BCE or later. (Robinson) Having so many resemblances to other pagan religions which preceded it, Christianity cannot be reliable in its beliefs. Egypt traded with Greece as early as 650 BCE. Many historians have acknowledged this fact, and have concluded this as the cause of the mishap (Bargeman 41).

The world is full of many false beliefs based on faulty assumptions. If humanity would seek out truth instead of blindly following those in authority, the world would be magnificent. People have been drilled with false statement that they are evil, wrong, and warped. Humans are beautiful, powerful beings. There is no explanation for why they cannot fully understand who they are, where they are, and where they are going. People must believe in themselves and reason through the ivory tower’s philosophies. By seeking the truth and knowing it, the world will free itself from the oppression of false belief.
