The Big Bang Theory Simplified

Ever wondered how the universe began? Well, it’s not beyond your understanding if simplified.

We have all heard about “The Big Bang Theory”, and no, I don’t mean the TV program. But do we really understand it? Well, it’s not beyond out understanding if we simplify it a little.

The Beginning of the Beginning

In the beginning, there was nothing, right? Well, according to our brain-box scientists, you’re right. There really was nothing, not even space and time.

Our universe started out as a singularity. What is a singularity I heard you ask?

Singularity

Well, it’s hard to say, and even harder to understand. Singularities are beyond our current understanding of physics, and are said to be infinitely small, infinitely hot and infinitely dense points in space-time (everything around us). That’s what is believed to be in the centre of a Black Hole.

So, our universe, in the beginning of the beginning, was a singularity. Where was the singularity? Well, the singularity was all that was there. Even space and time weren’t in existence before the Big Bang occurred.

Where this singularity came from, know one knows.

So, everything exploded out of this “singularity”?

Well, it didn’t really explode, as the name suggest. It just expanded. Try to image a tiny speck of sand on your fingertip. That is the singularity. Image it expanding, until it is a huge boulder, millions of times the size of the original speck of sand. That is, in principal, what happened around 13 and half billion years ago.

After the expansion, the universe started to cool. And in-fact it is still cooling to this day.

Proof

You can fire ontological questions at me for years, and chances are, I wont be able to answer any of them. But there are some proofs that prove that this may have happened.

  1. Well, we’re pretty sure that the universe has to have had a beginning.
  2. Galaxies seem to be moving away from us. This is proof that the universe is indeed still expanding.
  3. Background radiation, the harmless radiation that we are subjected to, is said to be the remnants of the radiation given off due to the big bang.

So this is the only theory about the beginning of the universe?

No, but this is the most popular of the masses. Heck, maybe you have your own theory. If you do, let people know about it. It might make you as famous as Einstein and Hawking.

What about God?

God can have his place in this theory. It’s really up to your own personal belief where He fits in. Maybe He created the singularity. Or maybe He just sparked off the Big Bang itself. It’s really up to you to decide.

Hopefully this has answered some questions.

You know, anit-christian, you’re being very narrow minded to say that you hate all christians and catholics. Even if you don’t agree with what they believe in, they still do the most charity work around the world. Even if you don’t have their beliefs, how can you say you hate people who help those in need. A lot of christians are kind people who don’t go shoving their religion in people’s faces like you probably think they all do. It’d just that the extremists are the ones who stand out. Just because someone has different beliefs in you, doesn’t mean you should hate them. I can almost guarantee you, if you were ever in need of shelter or food, a christian church would help you out, no matter what you believe in, or think of the religion. :) So lighten up, ok?

Hatred leads to misery, so don’t be hatin’!

mine is more an idea but here it is. for years scientists have said it is possible for a big crunch to happen if gravity gets stronger than negative energy, and i dont believe for a second there was absolutly nothing, maybe instead, the big bang happened because of the presure of all matter that exists today forced into one point not neccesarily tiny if you think about it, by the gravity. the negative energy would also add to the presure and would again overcome gravity, but, that sort of presure of everything into something that small in comparison i think would defonantly be enough to make a very big bang. like i said this is my idea and i would love some opinions just in case ive missed something
