The Decisions We Make: Taking a Chance
It takes a lot of courage to make a decision to try something out of your comfort zone. Whether you are doing this regarding your career, relationship, or life, taking a chance should not always be done on gut feelings.
Taking a chance on decisions should not always be spur of the moment. There are times when a person should dig a little deeper and research information before taking a chance. This may occur when deciding to make a drastic change in your relationship, your career, or when it comes to how you are living your life. Gut feelings are not always right.
Taking a Chance
On my website Surviving Life as a Woman, I wrote two articles pertaining to taking chances. One was actually labeled Taking a Chance and the other was Spring Cleaning Your Mind. Both articles encouraged trying new things and letting go of old thoughts or ideas that may be holding you back. Just as in spring time the buds burst out from the earth to reach for the sun and new heights that is how we should react to encouragement to free our minds to reach new heights whether intellectually, spiritually, or physically. We need to be inspired to try new things and take a chance.
How to Begin
Reflection on what we are not content with in our life and the steps we need to take to get where we want to be is one way to begin taking a chance. Making the decision to make a change and finding what is needed to make that change is vital to putting the change or the chance you have decided to take in action.
Use resources from the internet or from people you associate with to fuel your search for answers, knowledge, or instruction. The more information you have can help you in your determination to keep to the decision you make or chance you decide to take. It also helps to alleviate or calm any fears you may have regarding your decision to take a chance.
What If You Fail
The question “What if you fail?” is always going to be a nagging voice in your head from time to time. The best way to silence the voice is to realize from the beginning there is no harm in failing. Failing is a learning experience and even if your decision or chance you decided to take doesn’t work out as well as you thought you can give yourself credit for attempting something different in the first place.
Too many times people are held back from success in life in relationships, careers, or just life itself because they were afraid to make the decision to do or try something different. Break the mold, get out of your comfort zone and taste the fresh air life has to offer instead of the musty smell you are use to smelling and now find comforting. Take a chance and make a decision to really live your life and not just go through the paces.

I am so inspired with this. I always fail because I am fearless to try new things. People see that as my stupidity. But I see it as a challenge…

Very good advice but I feel safe in my comfort zone. It must be the fact I am feeling my age these days.
