The Meaning of Life
A brief synopsis of the meaning of life.
Now, most people will tell you that the meaning of life is simple; You are born, you live, you die. First of all, these people are too pessimistic, and need to live life before they can truly know the meaning of it. Second, and more importantly, they are wrong. I haven’t led a long life yet, or gone through many of the hardships of life that others do. With an observant eye however, one can see much more than the life lessons any single person goes through. I know, as do we all, plenty of people who work hard, always make the smart choices, and despite lots of money and everything else they could possibly want, are miserable. In contrast to this, I know people who have lived the majority of their lives with little-to-no spare money and not a thing in the world that they want. Of course, many of these people are exceptionally content with their lives.
Some people would say that this occurrence is because “Money isn’t everything,” or “Money can’t buy happiness.” This statement is wrong. Money can buy the things that make you happy. The problem is that so many people in modern society spend so much time getting into a comfortable financial position, that they forget how to have fun. They have forgotten how to be spontaneous. Spontaneity is the meaning of life. You need to act on impulse every once in a while. Do something crazy when you least expect it. This doesn’t mean anything illegal. This could mean doing anything you enjoy doing, or anything you haven’t done before. The point is, don’t ever forget how to have fun, and act on a whim every so often. There’s no point in being born in the first place, unless you make your life one worth living.
