The Universe, Everything, and Nothing
Why Things Are The Way They Are, For One Or More Reasons…Or No Reason At All…You Decide.
We live in an infinite universe…or do we? Contrary to the popular theory that the Universe is an endless stream of matter and energy, here is what I think: all of that matter can only travel so far.
For as long as we’ve been studying the history of the Universe, from the Big Bang Theory and all points in between, we have all set our minds on the belief that it keeps going with no end. The truth is that it indeed does end…somewhat.
Simply stated, the universe is all of the matter that physically surrounds us. It is comprised of billions of light years of stars, galaxies, solar systems, and planets. All of this ends at some point. The question is then: What’s at the end? The answer is simple: ongoing empty space with no end.
If we were to travel through the cosmos, we would definitely reach the end, but then we would immediately begin floating through limitless empty space, where the only thing that would stand in our way is actually nothing at all.
Where do we come into place though? Religiously, we believe in a Creator, one who modeled us in His own image. That is the religious aspect. Scientifically, we are left- over pieces of material from the Big Bang, which is what scientists think resulted in the creation of the Universe.
If the scientific part is true, then just what is it that makes us so intelligent? What gives us the capabilities to freely do as we please? Those questions are just too complex to answer.
If, however, we were put here by a much higher, super intelligent being, then what is the reason behind it? Many of us are taught to believe that we were put here by God, one who, according to religion, “always is, always was, and always will be.” If that is the case, then what is our intended purpose on this planet? How do we play such a significant role here and beyond? Only the Creator, if there is one, holds the key answer.
Some things just are not meant to be answered. We may or may not be here for one reason or another, but other things happen simply because that is how they are supposed to be. Much like the religious God, and the endless space after the Universe, most things really always are, always were, and always will be. As strange as that may sound to people, that is just the way things go.
Maybe the answer to life’s ultimate questions is a question itself: Why ask about what cannot be answered? Why question any of it? Just deal with it to the best of your ability and learn to appreciate it. By “it,” I mean everything around us, both physical and non-physical; what is seen and what is not seen. Just let things run their natural courses and live your life to the fullest, and, maybe someday, we will find out the true meaning to the force that is everything.

We are speculating because not enough information is available to actually know, however, because we observe cause and effect in the universe is always operating, it might be a good speculation that eventually that nothingness you imagine as out there may actually be caused to interact with somethingness.
