There is a Dog on That Moon Afterall
One of the things I have learned from Philosophy I class.
I took up Philosophy I this last semester and all I can say is that it left me breathless. It rocked the steady foundations of my beliefs and opened new doors of thought. It made me rise up into that philosophical pedestal where you see more than the ordinary line of sight. It woke up the sleeping possibility in me and most important of all, it made my head ache.
Let me share to you one thing that I have learned from this headache: there is a dog on one of Saturn’s moons. Beginning with the statement: human feet haven’t set foot on Titan until this point of time, we can prove the theory. Let us follow that statement with a query this time: is there a poodle on Titan? No, surely there isn’t, you would probably say. But the catch here is that humans haven’t explored Titan yet and so we, must use the Law of Probability: there is a 50% chance that we will find a poodle at the Titan. 50% is not a very stable value. Poodles couldn’t have existed there anyway. But wait, there is another catch, poodles are only a small fraction of the 500 dog breeds! What will happen to the probability if you’ll have 500 50%’s? Try tossing a coin 500 times and you will know the answer. A heads will eventually come up. This school of thought then proves that there is a dog on the Titan!
This example was formulated by the late philosophers. In their time, space exploration is nothing but an astronomical fantasy. Today, unmanned ships can travel and withstand what the living tissue can’t. And fortunately, there are no dogs at Titan. But wait, what about that distant star over there? Or there…?

Haha, I really don’t know. I guess this school of thought is the one they refer to as Bent Philosophy. Mind whacking.

I took up Philisophy last sem too. Despite the fact that I do not like the teacher that much (lol) I can still say that the subject is nice coz I learned more on ethics and what moral is.

But there really is a dog in Titan…nah just kidding. I’m not even sure we had a decent Philosophy class. I do know we have a lot of calculus and advance math. Mind whacking too but I would choose Philosophy over Math anytime. Nice article!
