What is Truth?

This article is about the way truth is betrayed in society.

What is truth?

Truth is said to be something that is conformity to reality or actuality. The meaning behind truth is usually based on the eyes of the beholder as it seems. This statement is also made upon art. Does this give the right of the teller or say the artist to torture the true statement into there little contortionist act and make it seem to be something it really isn’t? Truth can be bent so that others don’t have to lie as it may seem to be. So the person who has said it would rather say a false truth then a whole lie. Is there truly a line between twisting the truth or flat out lying? True statements are determined by the facts that back them up.

Some people in this society seem to have lost their need for trust and they show that by the way they have learned to twist their words into distrustful and distasteful lies. Isn’t trust based on truth? Then why would people deliberately brake that trust to whom ever by lying? Not all of humanity has lost their interest in being trusted by telling the honest truth always. Some people shun those who lie out of good habit and good morals. For we learn at a young age in many cultures that lies are disgraceful and that it is wrong.

True and false has been used in schools and in society for many years. People teach others it is right to teach and tell the truth and wrong to say or teach lies, lies are the same as false statements. Yet there are still those who lie for many reasons. Is this because they have not been taught what the meaning of truth is? Or is this do to the way society hides behind the lies that have been already spread and taught to others? The answers to these questions aren’t mine to give.

I honestly have seen teachers of truth be hypocritical to savior their own dignity such as parents who have taught their children from day one that it is not good to lie and then go back on that when the child asks simply where babies come from. The natural reflex of parents is usually a lie because it is easier to explain then the truth.Something simple as saying the stork brought you is still a false truth. Has telling the truth become just an inconvenience  to the world?

    Lovely nude girl you depict
    It’s the truth hidden beneath
    But sugar coated lies
    Can pass as truth
If one can lay a nude one
    Like the one you display
    That’s the whole truth
    Any way sex is truth
    That sells freely
    Yet it costs really dearly
    You can be caught
    In a betrayal
    Your spouse may say
    You have cheated
    So the truth is anything
    That can conceal lies
    Absolutely freely
