Why We Should Not Allow the Fate Theory to Influence Us

In many parts of the world, there is this one theory of all that happens around us: whatever happens to anyone, anywhere is already decided and is bound to happen. This is very wrong, and needs to be corrected. This is an attempt to present some viewpoints on this theory.

* We should keep on spreading the messages of peace, and write hundreds of thousands of articles and create awareness on all ills of the world.

*We should demonstrate our commitment to making the environment much cleaner than what it is today, and innovate continuously for solutions.

*We should plant trillions of trees in all parts of the world, and allow the environmentalists to get their legitimate voices heard, in every corner of the world.  For example, the manufacturing of granite has been banned for health reasons in many parts of the world.  Yet, for purely economic reasons, there are thousands engaged in the manufacture of granite in India, with disastrous health effects.  The Government is doing precious little to correct this horrible thing.

*We should get good work done, by any organization, or any great leader or any group, that makes the lives of people far better than what it was earlier.  For example, there are thousands of lessons to be learnt from the economic activities that are undertaken by the people, at the “bottom of the pyramid” in India.  It is here that one can learn hundreds of lessons in tolerance, in patience, and hard work.  There are some twenty million people, with incomes of around 40 US dollars per month, who are engaged in collective activities that have not only raised their incomes to double this figure, but also changed the nature of the micro-finance movement in India.  These groups, called the self-help groups have proudly announced their break with horrible poverty: hundreds of thousands of children of such people are now studying in schools and colleges to hopefully live a far better life in the years to come.

*We should do something to societies such as Pakistan and Afganistan to understand that their integration with the rest of the world, by systematically destroying the framework of terrorism in their countries, is in their own interest.  There are thousands who still believe that it is all “fate”.  This thinking needs to be broken.

In the ultimate analysis, it turns that Fate is something that happens to us, inspite of all our efforts, but not without efforts.  Without efforts, nothing will happen.  The world needs far more resources and this requires huge will to change.  The will to break the beaten path and do things differently.

The IT revoultion, and the internet are great vehicles of change.  Websites such as this, ought to serve as engines of change, that bring about peace and destroy the fundamental concept of “Fate”, as it is commonly understood.

There is nothing called fate.  Everything can be controlled or nullified.  Corruption, polluition, environmental degradation, global warming, diseases, and everything else needs to be changed through collective will. Once we understand that human efforts can change everything in this world, we can forget “fate” and live to make the world a far better place to live in.  Not only for us, but for future generations as well.
