A Foreign Look at US Voting
Talking to people from around the world, I discussed with them our countries, laws, health care system, etc. This article is about how people from around the world view the democracy of the voting system in the USA.
It has been roughly two years since I first entered the cyber playground. I must give credit where credit is due. Ever since then, I have been able to talk to people from all over the world and learn alot. I learn their slang, terminologies, and dialects. I also discuss politics and religion with them as so with world news. I come to realize that what other countries read or watch in the news varies from other countries, including the USA.
For the past 5 months I have been indulging in enlightenment concerning their voting rights and about the United States right to vote. One person from Australia told me that they have no choice but to vote. If they do not, then they get fined and if they do not pay that fine, then jail. Now is that right? Is what she told me true? I know that in the USA people generally try to push people to vote when both candidates are not worth the office that they seek. Either it be lack of character, no leadership skills, even some scandal.
I do not plan on writing a thesis on the subject at hand. It would most likely put readers to sleep, so I will get to the direct point. While talking to citizens from other countries, I have learned that they are baffled about the “new” American way. Where the politicians are so corrupt and morally unjust, not representing the people or true government. They cannot conceive why we vote these leaders in when they stick it to ther citizens. It is viewed by other countries that we are not very wise in our choices and pick who we want to inflict more damaging laws and regulations. They do not see Democrats or Republicans, only one nation, one body. They also are so perplexed and confused to why the American citizens are terrified and afraid of their leaders. With the way the staggering economy is, unjust rising fuel prices, etc, they wonder why “WE THE PEOPLE” are not protesting and making our message clear.
I guess we can learn a great many things by taking online to people from other countries. They can see the USA in a different spectrum and only wonder what in the world is going on with the USA…..

A great article, I enjoyed it. The people have finally started protesting. Tea Parties are being planned in many communities again for July 4th this year.
