A Question of Intent

 In a perfect society, all gain equally.  In an imperfect society, claiming perfection, leadership and its controllers gain; all others loose. It would be interesting to ask newly arriving immigrants, passing The Statue of Liberty, what she whispers as they fly, sail, or swim pass.  Does she whisper, “Welcome, we are waiting for you.  This is THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA; LAND OF THE FREE, AND HOME OF THE BRAVE.  You are now entering the melting pot of the world, you bring what you have and come as you are, and become one of us; AN AMERICAN.”

If the great statue of freedom could speak, she would have uttered those words of promise to all new comers with good intentions.  However, today I don’t think she would want to whisper such utterances in view of current attitudes.  Being the Statue of Liberty, would she be reprimanded for not being politically correct?  Would she face threats of removal from her pedestal of prominence because socialist leaning lovers of chaos, and disruption, are more focused on self worship, than they are the highest power?  I think in view of the events and attitudes of today, she whispers something much less encouraging.

“Hello stranger.  I see you have come to these shores with questionable intent.  It is not possible for me to terminate your arrival, and I see before hand, your heart and intent.  On these shores you will find many of like mindedness, and ill intent.  Be warned.  No man knows your true mind, and only GOD truly knows your heart, but I am the Lady Liberty; the visual to the heart of a people.  Your ill intent will not stand or go unchallenged, or unanswered.  Though I am a symbol, a statue, and can neither give, nor take a single life; ill intent and actions will, at some point in time, be met by the truth of our CONSTITUTION, and the wrath of our FATHER IN HEAVEN.  When the day comes requiring your payment for your actions, give pause to remember my warning.”
