America Needs the Draft

I know that not everyone will agree with me on this topic but I really do not care. I look at the state of our nation from what I believe to be a very different point of view than most people I encounter.

There are many reasons why but probably the most common ones are because they are Obese (way to go mom and dad thanks for letting me get fat and have health problems waiting for me in the near future) or they are not able to pass the entrance test (yeh your son or daughter may be a straight A student but they are not able to do simple math or understand and comprehend the English language. Thanks educators) then there are the Law infractions (parenting is just wonderful these days, isn’t it)? So keeping your kids out of the service is the way you take care of them sounds like you should write a book on parenting. There is nothing that pains a recruiter more than sitting in the living/dining room of a trailer with a hole in the floor so big you can see the dirt on the ground through it and a cinder block holding the wrong sized front door closed with an applicant that is fully qualified to enlist and being told by his welfare collecting parent that he is not joining because of who is in office.

This doesn’t make any sense to me. If you are such a good parent and wanted what was best for your child wouldn’t you be out trying to create a better life for them rather than sitting on your obese rump telling them no when that is what they are trying to do. It is not only in the poverty stricken areas that this happens. Even little Johnny with the silver spoon in his mouth that goes out partying and driving daddy’s Lexus into a telephone pole without regard for other peoples safety has parents that are stupid enough to think he will not die if he doesn’t serve in the military. When he is out drinking and driving, doing drugs and god only knows what else because you sure don’t but you are looking out for their best interest. I got it.

I will tell you what I hope. I hope that the Draft is reinstated very soon. Not because we are at war but because all of you people that want to keep the military off of campuses and think that you are to good to serve or what ever your lame excuse is. You need to know what sacrifice is. Our educators are praised for so called education of young people but they can’t pass a simple military entrance test. Now there are some good teachers out there and I would never say that they all are corrupt but I know the school system is pushing college because it is about the money so you are no better than anyone else. Colleges want your money and they gladly accept federal money but they want to bash the people that provide the choice of college, workforce, military or underachievement. Bring on the draft.

I support any political member who wants to bring it and I am quite sure I am backed by the majority of the men and women who have served and are currently serving. Wake up America society is in the toilet and one of the big reasons is everyone wants their freedom but no one wants to earn it. We only want to see negative media we don’t want to see anything positive because we would have nothing to complain about. Suck it up because you know it is true. Quit complaining about America or get out. There is a country for you somewhere and true Americans don’t want you here if you don’t like it. Trust me we will move on without you and our society will be better for it.

You’ve got to be kidding! You don’t really think that the rich, powerful elite in this country are going to allow their children to risk being killed, do you?

If you do get a draft, there will be exemptions for all the ruling class.

Remember, just a few months ago, when asked why none of his five sons were in the military, Mitt Romney (a chicken hawk) stated that they were doing their part by working for his campaign!!! Really, he said that….

That is just crazy. You know how many people would leave the country stictly because of this? The draft is forcing men and women alike to fight for their country. If they don’t want to fight for their country it will not help the country. We would need to train them and quite frankly I’d say not even 25% of people over 25 that aren’t enlisted are in good enough condition to get in the army. It’s not as easy as you think. There are so many tests, and different physical things you need to do to become eligible. Face it our country is obese and not willing to have a draft.

I think we should pass a draft law, draft the Bush twins and the Romney boys – then repeal the law – and send those elitists to Iraq until the war is OVER!

Man, I did not know you were in the Army. I am, right now — engineer. Been in this mix for about about a year, now. I was just stopping by Fresno on R&R, on my way to LA, hereabout.

Folks might ever notice: We wouldn’t *have* a nation if it wasn’t for people making the sacrifice of voluntary entry into one of these organized, directed military organizations of our nation, even in the founding days of this. Y’all celebrated the successes of the people engaging in that first war, earlier this month, y’know — right between the third and the firth of July, as the tradition goes. (I, for whatever I’s worth, I was in the sandbox, right then :-P but you know where my heart was anyway — was right on about my future sweetheart Patricia Ford, but that’s another thing >;^)

I’ve read a historic work by one military strategist who stated, essentially, that peace-lubbing is really a veiled selfishness.

as far as drafts, it sure would rock the world for some people. I can’t really say for it, either way, though — it’s not even firstly up to the people so many steps above me in the chain of command — though I imagine they’d have a say about how it would go, if so — it’s really up to the legislature. The presidential office, I think, would only be able to sign off on it if the legislature had already got the ball rolling. as if.

    I can dream, can’t I? ;^)

One thing I’d like to say for sure: We get by, with the personnel we have. Sure, it can result in some long and repeated deployments, but I expect that most people start off the discussion about the draft with essentially a defeatist mindset about it.

but don’t let me rock your boat, reader. I just have a job to do ;^)

NCO’s are ‘professionals’ huh? you hate kids too, “worthless” you said. You ’sgt.’ are the worthless one. Too many years in the so-called military made you brainwashed.
Anyone who loves the military is dangerous. This war is a scam, totally. You dont care if some kid gets killed, he/she is just a quota to you.
I was in the N guard a year, active. I hated it too. They trained us to be guinea pigs for Bushs ‘war on terror’ when we all know there is no threat save the one he created to fool the public. I am wise to this BS as are many, and many of us went AWOL from our units. To hell with war, you and your fouled up military. We do not need to “Earn” freedom, it was given us by God. Get that stupid idea out of our schools.

Sean, sorry took so long to reply but duty called. I appreciate your service borther and good luck to you throughout your honorable career.

Chuck on the other hand, you lost me at “many of us went AWOL” seriously dude. I can find no crediblity in words that come from a person that justifies breaking a sworn oath to this nation. As far as me being worthless, that’s a very bold statement for someone sitting behind a keyboard who will never cross paths with me. At least you addressed me by my rank so you got something from the NG. I am glad that you did go awol however because believe me the service is what it is due to the people who dedicate their lives to keeping us safe. Enjoy your unearned freedom. I bet you still tell war stories though don’t you?

All in all we don’t serve a man, we serve a nation!
