I am glad that you did go awol however because believe me the service is what it is due to the people who dedicate their lives to keeping us safe. Enjoy your unearned freedom. You know how many people would leave the country stictly because of this? The draft is forcing men and women alike to fight for their country. If they don't want to fight for their country it will not help the country. We would need to train them and quite frankly I'd say not even 25% of people over 25 that aren't enlisted are in good enough condition to get in the army. It's not as easy as you think. There are so many tests, and different physical things you need to do to become eligible. Face it our country is obese and not willing to have a draft. That is just crazy.
