An Immigration Plan to be Proud Of

Build the fence! Build it higher! Send more boarder agents! Send The National Guard! We need to shut down the boarder! Why? Because once illegal aliens get across, they’re home free. They are going to stay in America until they get dragged out… which is getting harder and more politically incorrect to do every day.
Here is my modest proposal to fix the whole mess: The Patriot Card. The PC if you will. Since the problems of illegal immigration effect us all, this program requires the involvement every working American to fix… not simply government. We can all see how that’s worked so far. And after all, WE are the government, right?
Simply put, everyone who wants to work in this country must provide their birth certificate or other legal paperwork that shows they are a citizen and allowed to work in the United States. Once that has been produced, they will be issued a Patriot Card. The Patriot Card is their proof of being available for legal employment in the U.S. Every one who has a job must have one. Hiring anyone to do anything, from cutting your grass to washing dishes at a restaurant, who doesn’t have a PC, means the person who hired them is guilty of a felony and immediately goes to jail.
Even if the first offense only costs the offender one night in jail, it leaves them with a felony. If an enforcement officer walks on a job site and even one worker doesn’t have a PC, the foreman gets hauled off to jail. When he is released the next day and returns to work, you can bet he will make sure every person on his crew has a PC.
From the standpoint of people who wish to be in our country legally and obey our laws, the Patriot Card will be a symbol of pride! It will be their right to work in America. Let’s face it, people wouldn’t be willing to risk life and limb to get here if they couldn’t earn a living. Having a PC will separate people who took the necessary steps to get here legally from boarder jumpers.
Yes, even white guys like me have to get one. Everyone does. Give the population a couple years to get it taken care of, but set a firm deadline for every American worker to get a PC. After that, there is no excuse for hiring anyone who doesn’t have one. If you do, you go to jail.
Not only will the PC Program put an an end to people breaking into our country, looking for work, but it will help install pride in everyone who is here legally. We wouldn’t need to go around looking for illegals to deport, they would be going back across the boarder themselves (in droves) and coming back the right way… with a PC… so they can move back to America and earn a living… and pay taxes… as proud American’s!
