Barack Obama: How Well Do You Know Him?
Here are 13 facts about Barack Obama that you probably did not know.
Is it just me or is this the most interesting presidential election to date? There seems to be a lot of dirt that can be dug up on candidates, but I have found that most of the garbage has no bearing on how effective these presidential elects can be once in office. So, with that being said I did some research and found some interesting facts about Barack Obama. Facts that can give a clear perspective on the kind of man he really is. Barack Obama has been very honest and forthright about his past, but here are some things we might not have heard about this man with the very intriguing past:
- His mother woke him up every morning at 4:30 a.m. to go over Barack’s school work and give him English lessons when they lived in Indonesia. Barack claims to have been very young, around 6 or 7 years old. He said he complained. He hated it, but his mom would quickly say, “This is no walk in the park for me either.” She usually had to go to work once they were done and Barack was off to school.
- He spoke of being the president of the United States during his days in Indonesia as a young man.
- Obama, an excellent basketball player, began playing Junior Varsity at Punahau School in Hawaii.
- He received his B.A. degree in International Relations from Columbia University in 1983. Okay some of you might have known that one.
- But, did you know that he was the first African American Editor/President of the Harvard Law Review (the most powerful legal journal in the country). I didn’t know that.
- He was an Attorney at Miner, Barnhill & Galland and taught Constitutional Law at the University of Chicago.
- Obama would have held a state legislator position longer than anyone who has occupied the White House since Abraham Lincoln, if he becomes president.
- Obama won two Grammys for Best Spoken Word Album.
- He is the 5th African American senator in U.S. history.
- His favorite movies are: “The Godfather (I & II) and Lawrence of Arabia. Can you believe it?
- When Obama was young he was called Barry. Somehow that does not fit him.
- Obama quit smoking just before campaigning for the Democratic nomination at the request of his wife, Michelle.
- Barack made Time magazine’s list of 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2005 & 2007.
Barack Obama is an ordinary man that has done extraordinary things.

Chris,
These are only facts about the President. If you are unhappy then this is not the place to voice that. If the President wants to be friends with everyone that’s his choice. It is hilarious to me that most think he will change things overnight. Only time will tell. Bootlicker, is mild is that all you have? He’s been called worse. Dig deep and realize that it is not the President you don’t like. We are what we say, we are what we do, we are what we think. Right back at cha!
