Barak Obama: The New Martin Luther King, Jr
Does the voting youth of America have their own Martin Luther King Jr. in Barak Obama?
I am a Hillary believer, and I love her for her devotion to our country, but Barak Obama… reminds me of a re-uniter who lived long ago. When he died, a nation shook, and grief over shadowed the nation. His name was Martin Luther King Jr. I remember back in those turbulent times when Mr. King spoke up not just for blacks, whites, or brown but for all disenfranchised people throughout the world. Yes, blacks sacrificed dearly with torture; suffering and… with their lives.
But what makes Obama and King seem to exist in a parallel universe is they unite people. Mr. King’s dream could not have happened without reuniting whites into his cause. People have a way of looking deep within the soul of a man and these unknown soldiers from all over the Nation came to Martin Luther King’s aid. One true fact: freedom could not have been achieved without the will and moral beliefs of millions of Whites. A storm brewed on the horizon. Whites by the tens of millions, including Washington, Democrats; and Republicans passed The Voting Rights Act, then The Civil Rights Act, and Constitutional Amendments to guarantee liberty and justice for all Americans. And though Mr. King was assassinated, (Father, please protect this new leader, your son, Barak Obama) he lives as a Martyr etched forever in the history of America and mankind.
An important accomplishment he achieved was that he put us on a path to unite a country. Now we look down within the soul of now cometh a new one untouched, and uncorrupted “Barack Obama”. These people from a small state in the Midwest have looked in the soul of this man and they can’t believe it. It’s like a reincarnation of Martin Luther King Jr. all over again. While watching Obama speak, I looked and seen people in the back ground with this overwhelming glow on their face of hope sparkling “especially” from within the eyes of older whites that stood behind him. Some I seen tears of rejoice in their eyes because they truly believe a new dawn has come. I also seen young voters and volunteers who are now seeing and feeling the experience we felt back in the sixties when we listened to MLK and now “they” have their own Martin Luther King Jr.in Barack Obama.
When I watch Obama speak, it’s like I’m entranced or spellbound, hanging on every word, barely able to sit still waiting for more … more … more. These young voters have made history in Iowa because it was them who put Obama over the top there. Obama has shown me, and what Americans yearn for… hope, that their truly is a better life for all Americans. Hope is a gift in which God gave to man in which man should cherish. When I seen Obama in Iowa surrounded by an audience of basically all whites (In the thousands), I could feel Marin Luther King’s present there with them. Because as I said… people have a way of looking into the soul of a man and not seeing but feeling the integrity of that person, and that’s what these voters (whites) seen from this African American. They truly believe that he is truly sincere about securing the future of America for all… “And now so do me.”
America still has it’s setbacks but Martin Luther King would be so proud of Iowa because they took the first step to making his dream come true. MLK’s dream was that a man be judged by the character of his contents and not the color of his skin. Iowa has made history by saying to the country, and to the entire world that the time has come for change, and that America (a majority of Whites) is ready for a Black President, Barack Obama. (PS. Dear Oprah Winfrey now I understand why you believe in him, he is truly a remarkable man.)
