Beating Around the Bush
Making a case for the prosecution of George W. Bush.
We are a nation born out of revolution.
Derived from the oppression of a tyrant of King, whose greed and contempt for an individual’s inherit right to freedom, created a country of representative democracy unheard of in the annals of history. The founding fathers of this country forged a document that literally changed the way civilizations around world looked at their governing body.
The U.S. Constitution has become a standard bearer for people yearning to be part of a society that places justice and the freedoms of the individual citizen upon a pedestal of exaltation rather than sacrificing those liberties on the lustful alter of some self-appointed monarch or dictator.
The America people have always rallied to protest against injustice and have gone to war to support those oppressed. It is in our blood to rise up against the evil that would suppress our independence and it is our tradition to expel any who would dare to take away the freedoms we have worked and died for.
So why are we allowing the past rulers of our government to bend Lady Liberty over a flagged draped desk of the Oval office and rape her of all that she stands for?
The former President of the United States had sworn to uphold the law of the land and in the execution of his duties must secure for its citizens safe harbor from threats both foreign and domestic. In order to do this it is imperative that he is above personal gain and use objective reasoning to provide what is best for all the people and not just the political supporters and lobbyists that got him into office.
The abuse of this power is cause for impeachment and to deliberately steer the country toward a direction of war where lives are lost and economies are plundered should be grounds for criminal prosecution.
After 9/11 George W. Bush in one of his most stirring and memorable speeches to date, announced to his fellow Americans and the world at large that the United States would combat terrorism where ever it festered. The sentiment of the President’s words disguised his true motive and the speech proved to be a preamble to his plan to finish the job his father, George H.W. Bush started in the original Gulf War.
By creating an atmosphere of fear not seen since the Red Scare of Communism, Bush began to lay the ground work that would garner the nation’s support to invade Iraq, a country still recovering from the effects of Daddy’s last invasion. Never mind that the devastation of the Twin Towers was perpetrated by Al-Qaeda and that we were already entrenched in Afghanistan; Iraq was George’s real target.
