Beating Around the Bush

Making a case for the prosecution of George W. Bush.

Trust being a key factor

It has been known for some time that the White House had mislead the public in it’s quest to spill blood for oil. Whether it was George W. lying about Saddam’s biological capabilites, of which there were none; or Dick Cheney stating Huessein had nuclear weapons when he knew there weren’t any; or Ms. Rice’s denial that the President had read reports that provided the truth when the evidence proved otherwise – it all boils down to a group of selfish-self righteous political demi-gods manipulating an entire nation to dive head first into a holy war whose only purpose was to line the pockets of its leaders with the almighty dollars they worship

George W. Bush’s deeds have circumvented Constitutional law, the very foundation upon which our country was founded. He has expectorated falsehoods designed to render the nation divided and has ripped into the very hearts of the people he has sworn to protect making it imperative that we stand up and be heard. The swiftness of our actions must come before the ever encroaching cloak of subversive dogma hidden in the expensive weave of patriotism is allowed to be pulled over our eyes.

The impeachement and criminal prosecution of former President Bush is dependant upon not so much what he did but to a greater extent what the American people will do in an effort to hold it’s elected officials accountable. As despicable as the offenses of the President are, if we as a people allow it to continue we make ourselves no better a person than the one committing the crime.

Many have argued that to run this course of action would tarnish the office of the President, however to take no action against King George W. for his treacheries does far greater harm. The dirty deeds done by this Adminstration in the name of patriotism and national security has slandered the once good name of the American people and slung mud upon our great seal. For the citizens of this country to sit and do nothing, prefering to “wait for the world to change”, become perpatriators of an apathetic behavior that encourages the very destructive behavior witnessed over the last 7 years.

Thomas Jefferson said –

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not reminded from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance.”

And it is the people’s responsibility to actually turn off the big screen propaganda machine of Broadcast media, get off the damn couch, put down the Cheetos and take to the streets of the Capitol.  It is not just an American right to protest injustice; it’s a Constitutional requirement.

If we do not hold the representatives we send to govern our land responsible for actions they take that directly affect our lives, we can blame no one but ourselves for the loss of freedom and the extiction of our sovereignty.

Benjamin Franklin said it best over 200 years ago. –

”They that give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty or safety.”
