Changing Voter Views
How a new trend in voting is unfolding in Canada.

I think after hearing comments on the voting tendencies some of which confirms my own beliefs abut the way that voting is heading, the country is heading for a change in the way certain leaders might think of themselves in the future. Doing politics for the sake of just promoting their political machine is on the way. There has to be bridge between the voting public and the political machine if any interest is going to be generated otherwise the establishment will be headed for a surprise.
I do think it is time established parties rethink how they take out the dirty laundry of their opponents on a desperate bid to gain support. That will change when there are cases of low key politicians who do not do the same. When Ignatief thinks that by chanting rise up, he will generate an interest in his platform only a few years after the demise of Paul Martin who was accused of corruption then there has to be a remodeling of his plan in how to defeat voting opposition if the Liberals are going to keep from losing any more terrain. Resent pools show that they have lost support to either Conservative or NDP candidates.
Saying that Layton will always be in opposition was not was for a liberal leader who himself has been labeled as being above voter interest. There is a certain smugness that Ignatief has managed to conceal albeit he has appeared aloof in the past and did not connect as well before the campaign. Appearances count even though they may not be accurate, and the same can be said for Layton and Harper. This is not to say that the Liberal platform is irresponsible, there is an interest at improving health care that seems distant for the conservatives who want to increase public spending at the taxpayer’s expense.

Harper is seen to have overdone his spending by wanting to throw money away to fighter jets the country has little use for. The idea of increasing spending at the time of economic crisis has been questioned even though the country’s economy is doing better than imagined. But his weakness is in wanting a majority for the sake of his own agenda which offers tax cuts to large corporations and does little to stimulate small business. Since there are more small business voters than corporate ones maybe this will dampen his expectation at getting the majority he dreams about.
Layton offers a smile and party platform that is consistent for a couple of decades at least and that concerns health, small business and increasing the quality of life for the small guy. This has attracted attention away from the Bloc and their twenty years at harping for an independent Quebec nation when hiding behind the illusion that they are fighting for Canadian values. The two ideas just do not mix since so many Quebecers are fed up withe referendums. His weakness is that the party has many representatives that have come from nowhere and one wonders about their capability but his party line is different from the liberal and conservative ones that are too similar for comfort.
