Coons and O’donnell: The Circus Isn’t Fun Anymore

Yesterday, October 14th, Delaware Republican challenger for Senate seat previously held by Joe Biden, Christine O’Donnell and her Democratic opponent Chris Coons faced each other during a debate moderated by CNN’s Wolf Blitzer and Nancy Karibjanian of Delaware First Media.

I am not here to comment on the debate and what the candidates said and did not say about a number of important issues. My commentary is just an honest confession about my frustration with this whole election cycle.

Christine O’Donnell, she is more empty and shallow than Paris Hilton. At least Hilton is not out there wanting to representing a state in the Senate, she is doing what she is good at and not trying to be someone she is not. O’Donnell is very much un-informed about serious issues like abortion, foreign relations and religion. She claims to be something and behind that mask there is someone different. It is frankly scary to look at O’Donnell, how can a person so un-informed make it this far in politics? Has the Republican party lost it when it comes to cultivating promising candidates? Or is it just happy pushing outrageous people like Christine O’Donnell?

Anyway, I skipped the debate and enjoyed Keith Olbermann’s rant instead. It was much much better than sitting through Christine O’Donnell yap about how high and mighty she is. She faked her qualifications so many times, it is not even funny anymore. So I choose a new circus instead.
