Democracy Applicable for All?
Making history is difficult, more difficult is to take lesson from the historical blunders. And those who try to change themselves, as per time, grow and get improvement.
The great nations could only become great, because of good governance, or consistent policies. When the nations get the time only then they can change and improve themselves, but history tells us that every nation has got this time when they got strong governments and less problems to think about. Under such conditions they put their hearts and minds on other things such as education, art, or any other improvement, in this way consistency in policies can bring some perspicacious changes, which eradicated the problems they’d been facing for centuries.
Now in most of the developed countries, this stupendous achievement was achieved through democracy, countries having a long democratic history, are now getting the fruits in the shape of strong institutions, relatively lesser poverty, strong law and order, good economy, strong defense and disciplined think tankers/policy makers. All these well managed policies make their country stronger and let their nations to live a life having high standards of living and living in a country that has strong and deeper democratic roots, make them stronger nation too.
But whether the same version of democracy, what developed countries enjoy can be applicable in under developed countries? Even democracy needs to have consistent policies and stability in the country to flourish and to penetrate the democratic roots deeper. Countries having plaguing problems including worst condition in providing basic necessities, no check and balance, worst condition of law and order and then corrupt politicians, this provide army a back door, for intervention, or give the opposition the chance to destabilize the government, due to which institutions remain weaker.
Under such conditions the typical democracy can not work, there needs to work on some new ideas in accordance with the geopolitical situation of the region, rather then simply keep on doing the same mistakes, amendment in democracy can be done, which would be accepted and more important, can work appropriately in its true sense, thus it will start growing and will have ultimate solutions of all problems.
