Democrats and Republicans: Generalized

Politics in a nutshell.

If you are Democrat, you most likely are wealthy enough to not be living paycheck to paycheck.  You most likely grew up in either a stable, upper-middle-class family or on the opposite side of the spectrum, you have overcome a horrific past to be the man/woman you are today.  The Democrat, at it’s core, is a dreamer.  Big ideas run through it’s mind and aspirations of utopias that have never existed, tempt it into action.  Following this surge of seeming importance, the inspiration-charged Democrat plunges into the Political Arena, where it is quickly shown to be rather spineless and ineffective, albeit well-meaning.  The Democrat seems less susceptible to corruption, for the sole reason that it has always had money thus losing the attraction, or has never needed money thus losing the attraction.  Any corruption tends to be petty and dumb.  The kind that will obliterate the trust of their constituents whilst reaping no significant reward.  The modern Democrat probably went to college and has a definite level of Booky Intelligence which can come off as–and is sometimes thoroughly–arrogance.  Sometimes they mistake their abilities in the classroom for competence in the Real World, this can lead to ugly Political gaffes and alltogether Annoying People.  Overall, I find it difficult to fault the ideals of the modern Democratic party, while they may not be the most financially sound or appeasing to Libertarian-types, they seem to be the Empathetic Party…possibly to a fault.  And definitely to a fault is their ineptitude at being Politicians.  They are often pushovers and crumble into shapeless, thoughtless heaps of flesh-colored clay at the first whimper of dissent from their people.  Often, their ideas are shutdown by big-business funded ad campaigns and attacks, and rather than fight tooth and nail for what they believe in, the Democrat will most likely admit defeat and try to stay below the radar for, ‘a little bit’ before trying–and failing–at another of their plans. They do not–and cannot–understand the idea of doing something against the mob for the mob’s sake.

The Republican is a born Politician.  Like the Democrat, the Republican comes from one of two, very different classes.  Typically, the Republican comes from either extreme affluence and has never worked a day in it’s life or is a somewhat jaded, workaholic.    Long past are the days of Abe and Teddy (technically Bull-Moose Party), when being a Republican was far less defined, but many of the traits of the old-timey Red Leaders have remained in the party.  The Republican tends to be far more charismatic than the Dull Democrat.  Often, with wittier soundbites and clever campaign commercials.  The Republican is a showman, a ring leader of a sometimes sinister circus, a skilled Politician and a master disceptor.  While the Democrat is empathetic, a Republican is only vaguely sympathetic, saving it’s emotional energy on helping those who help themselves.  While a Democrat may see a homeless man as a shame on America, the Republican sees the homeless man as a disgrace only to himself, for if he wanted success, it can easily be achieved through hard work.  The Republican seems to be the Man’s Man, regardless of their actual gender.  They believe in guns and self-defense and military-might and the powerful remaining powerful.  They are oldschool and tough, which is the last thing you want in a Government such as our own.  With so many different people, with equally as important voices, one cannot be stuck in the past or unwilling to change.  Religion-Motivated, out-dated beliefs tend to be the cornerstone of the Republican monument, rendering their Political savvy, nothing but a danger.

Clearly, I am a bit biased here.  I definitely lean towards the Democratic ticket, only because of the sick sense of Empathy that plagues me.  Recently, I have tried to see both sides so I could better get along with my fellow man as Political oposition can breed violent contempt.  This essay is what I came up with.  It is about as fair and even-keeled as I can possibly tolerate.  While I do admit to being subjective, I will not admit that it makes anything said less truthful.
