Democrats vs. Republicans in the Black Community

 For openers, Abe Lincoln was a republican, you know, the one History said freed the slaves. The Republican party was strong in US history up until FDR, who created the welfare (state) system. This system has had a crippling effect on the African-American (AA) community. The Democrats have been quite divisive in the AA community. It has become too easy to pit us against each other in local politics. The greatest trick of them all was the demise of Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Adam Powell passed more legislation through congress than all other congress persons combined in the history of congress. His reported affair outside of his marriage was the tool that was used by Charles Rangle, Percy Sutton, David Dinkins, and a few others whose names I won’t mention. These men used a eurocentric ethic to undermine a great AA leader. Because of him being ousted by the Ethics Committee (or whatever name they gave themselves at the time). There is no mention of Adam Powell’s contributions or his unbroken recorded for passing legislation through congress. This is not a tout for the Republican Party, its just some real low-down on the Dems. It is my personal opinion that any household with more than 1 voter should have a member of each party in their home. That way no matter which party is in office each household will have the right to voice matters in how things are run. Including change.
