Evangelicals and Politics

The Evangelicals believe they are the only ones with the knowledge to run the country. If they had their way, the courts would have the power to enforce the ten commandants and rule the whole country with the iron hand of religion. They are sure anyone who doesn’t believe as they do is possessed with demons. Their conceit has no end. Currently they are passing the doctrine down to their children through home schooling. So far they haven’t made much head way, but they continue to press on.

Evangelicals and Politics are running strong in America. Many ministers and Christians believe America is in the grip of evil. The Republicans say the Democrats are under demonic control. Whether it’s only a ploy of if they really believe it nobody knows. Christian dominionists believe it’s up to them to to influence business, families and government, entertainment, education and religion. Not everyone agrees. It seems to be a comfort to hard nosed dominionists to believe everyone who doesn’t think as they do are possessed with demons. It’s their intention to gain control by giving literal meaning to every verse in the Bible.

Peter Wagner, a minister wrote a book with the title, “Dominion! How Kingdom Action Can Change the World” He wants christian activism to dominate through politics, education and beyond. Christians are the only ones who get a fair shake here. Others are considered evil and not to be considered. Texas Governor Rick Perry conducted a prayer rally, quoting Isaiah and Ephesians at a prayer rally in Houston. Many a-mens and hallelujahs rang out over the audiences. Perry was in his element. Being a smart politician, he may be able to win the Evangelical vote without immersing himself too deeply into their politics. He seems for the most part to be more interested in battling with Mitt Romney than waging war against Satan and demons.

Christian dominionists believe it’s their obligation to convince everyone to their way of thinking. Which means they are always right and everyone else is wrong. They would like the courts to have power to enforce the ten commandants. They already propose it their home schooling agenda. The religious rights failure to force prayer back in school or pass an antiabortion bill has them more determined than ever. So far they have little to show for their painstaking work. Let’s hope it stays that way.

I think politics and religions should be separated.

Some countries are doing this style, but, different in degree of authority and system. If it’s separated, I think, political leaders should control the religious side in every aspects of governance.

it’s impossible to separate religion and politics. Like trying to separate people from their beliefs.
