Getting Politics Right

Problems for politics and justice as applied in the "free" world.

Justice would be applied “socially” by having people forcibly produce the needs of society. Exceeding the means to provide meant falling outside those social needs and vying for more material benefit society brings. It also meant suffering for the lack of those benefits. At the time of the ancient Greeks, social success hinted to a sort of return to the land. Even so man would want to compete with his neighbor because it is human nature to want to excel and have more. He would not want to fall into a bubble of mediocrity and have the same aspirations as his associate.

The problem for the continuity of certain powers is the exclusiveness that it generates or allies itself to and this was also a though that Plato had when wanting to design a problem free political system. Eventually the governing body is too removed fro the public to be seen as actually representative of it and then it is the beginning of the end for that system. This has happened time and time again throughout mankind and will eventually occur again especially when new blood is excluded from political cabinets and the government shields itself from real public participation.

The signs of the lack of real participation has occurred when tenders for the reconstruction of public utilities or services are given one quote, the project is left in limbo and is then renewed at a more inflated value. This can be said for the construction of the mega hospital, which was supposed to have been built years ago, but was delayed because of supposed issues on raising funds. The building date has been sliding forward and the cost has been amplified. But lack of real participation has also been felt politically as Canada continues its presence in Afghanistan well beyond initial promises of 2007 and 2009. The excuse this time is that we are going to be used in a non-military role but there are no impartial foreign civilians there to investigate that fact.

The delay in the construction of the super hospital comes at the same time as fraud surfacing in the provinces construction industry. One suspects that this is not coincidental and the proof is in the history of construction deals gone badly as the continued maintenance for the 1976 Olympic Stadium with its defective roof and stories of construction crews taking materials to build their own chalets in the Laurentians. A connection has been made between the construction industry and the underworld and the average citizen has no control over resulting escalted prices, payoffs and lack of applying justice measures. The application of justice measures hear as in other sectors is sorely lacking.

First I read a piece on religion, now politics! Brave man!
Thought the title was an oxymoron!
Greed rules man, so we’ll always fight for justice and a decent polictal system.
