Goldman Sachs, What’s He Doing?
Goldman Sachs, what’s he doing?
Goldman Sachs is a large financial investor for President Obama, but doesn’t seem to be paying off. Goldman Sachs’ political action committee and individual contributors who listed the company as their employer donated $994,795 during 2007 and 2008 to Obama’s presidential campaign, the second-highest contribution from a company PAC and company employees. Although some of the policies he was pushing during his bid for the White House weren’t so popular with Wall Street executives, it seems that investors wanted to back a winner. Dating back from 1990, Goldman Sachs’ PAC and employees have consistently contributed more money to Democratic rather than Republican candidates for federal office. Goldman says that 3 out of every 4 dollars contributed went to the democrats, so ¼ of the money went to republicans, ¾ of the money went to the Democrats.
