Hijacked! America’s Health Care
Over 50 years ago, domestic terrorists took control of your health care and have taken it where we don’t want it to go.
The system cannot be fixed. A system that was conceived to deceive, control and defraud can’t be made whole.
The system I refer to is our health care delivery system, what most people call health insurance. The term health insurance is a misnomer. Insurance – true insurance – is a financial tool used to mitigate a catastrophic financial loss. A catastrophic financial loss is not a $75.00 doctor visit, it is a $30,000.00 hospital bill. It is $50,000.00 triple bypass. Health insurance has come to mean covering a doctor visit with $25.00 co-pay and leaving the patient with $10,000.00 out of pocket for $30,000.00 hospital bill. Then after the “provider discount” is taken by the insurance company the total outlay for the insurance company is less than the out of pocket paid by the patient. That is not insurance. That is health care delivery.
Health care delivery is unnecessary. There is no reason that I need my health care “delivered.” I can get the same price that the insurance company gets for my care by paying cash for doctor visits. When you consider that health care delivery is a third party paying to manage what I can get on my own, AND having them do so at a profit, you can see the tip of the iceberg when it comes to health care delivery. Let me stop you right there. You might think that if this one issue is repaired that we can save our current health insurance system. You would be as wrong as the system itself if you were to believe that.
My goal is to have you come to the same conclusion that I reached and that is we, as a collective we, cannot fix this system. But we as indiduals can. Take heart. There is a solution and it is solution that will get better health care for substantially less money.
I believe most Americans agree that we need health care system that is created based on honesty not deceit, based in principles not corruption. I believe you will agree even after visiting our website, that the system we have now can never succeed because it was never meant to be a long term solution. It was meant to be a political band-aid to fix an economic problem not related to health care.
Our goal is to take the complex, multi-layered health care delivery system and break it into bite sized pieces, because looked t s whole it is too overwhelming to begin to unravel. Until you know what you don’t know you’ll think I’m crazy. Take the health care delivery quiz. It as good a place as any to start looking.
