How Can the Libertarian Party Grow?

The thing about Libertarians is that they aren’t as socially liberal as they think, this is the biggest problem. I’ve never met a Libertarian who understands and acknowledges things such as racism, mysogeny, homophobia or classism. They claim to support personal freedoms, yet a vast majority of Libertarians do not support equal rights for homosexuals or equal pay for women. These things will always hold the party back but what can they do to change?

1. Get over the racism.

It seems that because most Libertarians are white males, they ignore racism completely. I had been linked to a documentary once that stated point blank that “Racism” was just a buzz word created by “Liberals” to force guilt on certain people, aka white people. This is absolute nonsense, of course, because racism has existed in every society in the history of the world and only in America, Europe and other nations with white people as the majority, does it relate to Caucasians. In fact, Race Based violence has existed in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Aboriginal Australia before the Europeans ever explored those nations. Even today in parts of Africa, race based violence leads to genocide. Racism is real, its part of the human experience. Accept it. Study it. Learn from it. Seriously, learning how racism and other prejudices work, you can grow your appeal to other ethnicities and thus a larger portion of the population.

2. Use rap music. 

Say whu…? Yep. Rap music is extremely libertarian in theme. It promotes an independant mindset, rejects the authority of government, defends free market business and open ended capitalism. Also it promotes a desire for the legalization and decriminalization of weed. Further more, if you use Hip Hop, you can reach a much broader demographic. Rap music is purely about free market capitalism. It’s about appealing to the largest market, faster than anybody else. Sean “P Diddy” Combs built an empire that reaches into just about every fashion market simply because he had a hit song and used his money to invest in other areas.

3. Abandon the Birthers and other Conspiracy Nuts.

Seriously, why do you let them taint your position? People have been going off the deep end with conspiracy theories about Barack Obama. You people helped elect George W Bush, not once, but twice. Even after he stripped people of their right to privacy. Even after he completely disregarded the constitution and Habeus Corpus, you promoted his BS. You quote Ayn Rand and talk about how government will pass laws with nice names as a way to cover up the vulgar acts they wish to commit but it’s the republicans and libertarians who do this more than anybody else. Fighting against Health Care reform that gives citizens more choice than ever before by claiming your rights are being taken away and stating you are fighting for “Patients Rights”.  You need to ignore conspiracy theories and appeal to common sense arguements. Barack Obama’s healthcare plan is not socialized medicine, it actually uses free market theory to make health insurance companies stronger, by giving them more competition. You should be all about this.
