Illegal Immigration
Currently, there are 31 million immigrants in the US, and there are around 13 million illegal immigrants. This is approximately 1/16 of the current US population. Out of these 13 million capable of working, just 7.5 million are employed putting large financial strains on the economy and US government.
A Medical lawyer, Madeleine Pelner, stated that the burden of illegal immigrants on the health care system in the US made many hospitals close due to unpaid bills or other financial problems. Between 1993 and 2003, 60 hospitals in California closed and others had to lay off many staff members and stop providing some medical services. This is a serious problem because it takes away jobs from workers and provides fewer opportunities for others. Pelner says that the affects on these hospitals are said to be caused by immigration. Illegal immigrants pose a large threat to the economy and Government programs. Overall, illegal immigrants tax our society and greatly threaten the US economy.
Aside from economical threats, there are also many criminal threats posed by illegal immigrants. For example, between 1999 and 2006, around 1 million sex crimes were committed by illegal immigrants and 70% of the victims were citizens (“Illegal Immigration” 8). Also, the CIS (Center of Immigration Studies) concluded that many crimes committed by illegal immigrants are committed because they think that they can just get across the border, and since they are improperly documented, if documented at all, it makes them difficult to track (illegal immigration 8). The potential threat posed by illegal immigrants to citizens is enormous, but also, is the same on a national scale. Two of the men who were convicted of the 9/11 attacks had entered and overstayed in the United States illegally. Also, over 25 other illegal immigrants have been apprehended for attempted terrorist attacks (“Illegal Immigration” 8). In both of these cases it is very easy for criminals to get out of the country over the US-Mexico border, especially since 70% of illegal immigrants in the US are from Mexico and 13% are from Central America (“Distribution of Illegal Alien Population” 2).
In addition to crime rates, much of the drug smuggling into the United States occurs over the US/Canada and the US/Mexico borders. According to a 1997 report, the breaking of immigration laws helps Mexican drug industries to reach into the United States, and that much of the drug smuggling is dependent on illegal immigration (“Illegal Immigration” 7). Because illegal immigration is rising, there is more opportunity for drug smuggling across borders, so more drugs will be in circulation, possibly causing more and more people, especially in California and other states close to the border, to do drugs.
The California justice department said that in 1995, 60% of the members of a gang called the “Bloody 18th Street Gang” were illegal immigrants, and the gang had about 20,000 people, but the police say that the percent is higher. This gang works with the Mexican Mafia on selling and providing drugs, drive-by killings, and is the cause of about one assault or burglary every single day in LA County. Also, this gang has drastically enlarged by recruiting illegal immigrants who have just crossed the border (MacDonald 2). This is an enormous problem, and cannot be solved because of sanctuary policies and polices fear of backlash from the Illegal Immigrant and Hispanic Populations.
The original reason for sanctuary policies was to help convince and encourage illegal immigrants to work with the police and not be deported and take advantage of public and government services, although they contribute little. But, the downside of the laws is that police are not allowed to bring a criminals immigrant status into the crime, and they cannot prosecute them or arrest them. This also lets illegal immigrants have unchecked reign over drug markets and smuggling into the country (MacDonald 3). Even though the police cannot touch these criminals, the government does employ agents whose tasks are to control the country inside the borders. But, there are only about 2000 agents nationally whose jobs are to deport illegal immigrants, stop counterfeiters and smuggling and the thousands of people who employ illegal immigrants (MacDonald 8). Only 2000 people to do this isn’t nearly enough, especially when every year, 500,000 more enter the country.
Research and information supports that if illegal aliens were deported and stricter immigration policies enforced it would benefit the security and economy of the United States. Both the job and employment markets would benefit, because natives and legal immigrants would have a better chance of getting jobs, due to less competition. Also the ability of Government policies, education, and health services to work smoothly and efficiently would be insured due to decreased pressure put on them by illegal immigrants. If this change does not occur, then crime rates in the United Sates will stay at level and probably start to rise. Overall, illegal immigration has negative impacts on the economy, government program/services and can raise drug use, crime, gang and rates.

G.W. Block, That’s right. Illegal aliens are costing American tax payers $70 Billion to $338 Billion in net losses per year, and that does not even include the untold cost of crime ( http://VictimsOfIllegalAliens.com ), displaced jobs, and disease.
While we should not harbor hatred for illegal aliens, we should remember that our own incumbent politicians are the people that are despicably pitting American citizens and illegal aliens against each other for profits and votes, and most American voters repeatedly reward those incumbent politicians with 95% re-election rates.

Naaa, Every time I get out of a freeway I see a White homeless guy with a sign “need money for food”. But never seen a Hispanic asking for money. The fact is that Whites are lazy bastard. However, they are lucky to have Mexicans do good work. So if you don’t want to support Mexicans, then DOnt eat oranges, apples, and avocados. ALL these fruits are mostly picked by Mexican whom earn their money to have a dignified living. Thanks, hypocrites.

Rick, I agree with you that white people can be lazy…and that Mexicans do have good work ethic….and they are cheap.
This however does not erase the fact that Illegal immigrants are costing tax payers Billions of dollars a year and are the main cause for hospital over crowding and closures.
With illegal immigrants over crowding the emergency rooms wanting free health care, I have to wait for hours to PAY for my child to be attended to. You tell me whats fair in that….and guess what? Your tax dollars are paying for it.
Oh and i would love to have Medicaid when i get older…but because we are spending billions of dollars for illegal aliens to have it…it probably wont be there for me.

The point is this… it may already be too late for the US and Europe to save ourselves from the fate we have so foolishly brought upon ourselves. The Democrats sell their children’s birthright… more poor third-world immigrants… more votes. The Republicans, much to my chagrin, bow to business interest and they too sell their children’s birthright. What will America and Europe be like in 50 years? Now lets not get all-emotional and start calling names… like…, “racists.” Most of us wish the best for our children and grandchildren… But will they live in the same opportunity filled America, as we were so fortunate to have lived in. not likely

2) Within a few generations, whites will be a minority in the USA as a whole.
3) In the past, it was a privilege to become an American citizen… immigrants worked for it. Now legal and illegal’s… demand special treatment… which by the way… You Pay For
4) Crime is rampant… look at the crime statistics and don’t allow the liberals to convince you that the black crime stats are not real.
5) Related to crime… look at the vicious gangs that have taken over our cities… what color are they? Again the liberals will argue… just look at the stats.
6) Look at the birth rate for blacks and Mexicans… 70-80% of black children have no father.
What you are seeing in America and Europe is but a glimpse of that to come.
Why has America been so great… the most hardy, adventurous and probably some of the brightest that Europe had to offer are those that made up Americas population for the first two hundred years. These are the people of European descent have built some of the greatest empires of all time.
Every colony that was held by and flourished under the European nations are now independent. Without exception… they have all regressed into anarchy, crime, disease and starvation… South Africa… it took white Europeans 300 years to build and has been nearly destroyed in just a few decades by black rule.
Again… don’t listen to the cries of racism… look at the facts and the truth. What Black nation is ruling itself successfully now or ever has? None… this is just a fact, its not emotion.
For that matter… in the history of civilization… name one successful Black empire. Zulu you say… the Zulu empire was 600 square miles… 10 miles x 60 miles… smaller than a county in North Dakota… facts again… this is not emotional… just facts.
The most difficult individual for a far left liberal or a Rev Sharpton or a Jesse Jackson to deal with is an individual that looks at facts and does not allow himself to get drawn into a emotional argument.
For each black or illegal. We are not letting just one person in to America… Lets say each has 5 children and then those 5 have five… get the picture… in just a few generations given current trends. Those 40 million will turn into 150 million.
Folks… this is a colonization of America and Europe by the third world. If we… all of white America and Europe do not stand up and fight… our race will go out with a whimper and society as we know it (that our parents and grandparents have give to us) will cease to exist. Western Civilization will simply slip into mediocrity and chaos. Think of the America we’ve lived in and what we are, due to apathy, leaving to our children and grandchildren.
One closing note… Western Civilization has poured untold Billions of dollars into Africa… and Africa is far worse off than it was 40 years ago. This should be telling us something. Jason: Wetbacks, really? Perhaps you should take a step back and evaluate your offensive and racist comment.
There are several incorrect assumptions you make in your comment
1. many illegals risk their lives to get into the U.S. because unlike the U.S. economy, the Mexican economy is awful, many mexicans would much rather stay in mexico, but they cannot feed their children because there aren’t enough jobs available. There is nothing lazy about traveling far away from your beloved home country to come to the U.S. only to be discriminated against.
2. Actually, they do pay to live here. They pay about 7 million dollars into Social Security and never get it back.
3. Most are trying to learn English. Is it really plausible to expect them to pick it up in a few weeks, when most Americans spend 20+ years trying to learn it and still haven’t mastered it?
4. Illegal immigrants have actually been beneficial to the U.S. economy. If you want to pick on someone and call them names, how about you point your finger back at the rich employers exploiting illegals who are willing to work for less than minimum wage because even at that low rate they are still making more then they would in Mexico.

6. Take a lesson from history, blaming every social problem, i.e. unemployment, crime, etc, on one ethnic group is unwise. It comparable to Hitler blaming the Jewish people for Germany’s social problems, and will lead to discrimination and prejudice.
-I’m not saying that Illegal immigration is right, but I do think we have a responsibility to step back and look at the whole issue while trying to remove the prejudice and racism that so easily comes to the surface. Why do we, Americans, deserve more than other peoples in the world? Do they not also need education, food, shelter and the possibility of a better future? If my taxes are higher because another man was able to eat, no matter whether he “earned” it or not, then so be it. I’m willing to handle that. I feel bad for those people who have lost their jobs because cheap labor could be found elsewhere, but I don’t blame the illegal immigrant for that. The ones to blame are those who exploit them.

I mean no offence but I bet no one else would ever want to be picking fruit or vegetables in the hot sun or in the cold weather
for little pay. Also there are Many mexicans that have to cross
the border to get to the U.S.and its sad because Some end up dying before they get across, it’s just not fair! It is deffinetly not right when Mexcians, get deported back to Mexico
& SoMe have Families & kids ….what is going to happen to them!!?? we have to worry about getting pulled over because we don’t have licenses, oh but sure everyone else has licenses to drive but some of us Mexicans don’t! we have to woRRy about whether we might get deported and it just isn’t fair at all

I just have a few words in the matter.
Lets not blame others for the problems and difficult situations that our country is crossing.
Lets also remember that “whites” were also illegal immigrants and they DEMANDED that the native americans follow their rules and religious beliefs.
Why are “whites” so possessive?

What does the word “Alien” mean?

Before you start complaining that lawbreakers aren’t getting special treatment, read the facts. Illegal immigrants are breaking the law! If they are looking for a better life, they can apply for citizenship or a visa so that they can work here and follow the laws. With 9.9% unemployment, I’m sure there are more than a few American citizens willing to go out and do some manual labor for minimum wage. It is not racist to enforce the laws of the land, and America is nothing like Germany when Hitler was in power. I don’t see millions of Jews (or any other people, for that matter) being massacred anywhere. Do you?
