Joe Wilson: Lie. You Lie! What?

by W.C. Barron in Politics, September 11, 2009

Joe Wilson, the representative from South Carolina that blatantly disrespected the President of the United State the other night during his health care speech. What gives?

No matter what everyone thinks about President Obama, good or bad, no one ever has the right to stand up in front of millions of television viewers and tell the President of the United States that he is lying about anything. Yes, freedom of speech was used to its fullest extent that evening, but come on, Joe Wilson is a government official too. Has he ever heard of the word tactful? How would he feel if someone did that to him? It’s a pretty basic concept in life; always treat others like you want to be treated and everything will be fine. So, unless Joe Wilson doesn’t care how he is treated professionally, he owes a public apology to both President Obama and the American people for using absolutely no tact and disrespecting him like that during his speech.

Have to admit it was pretty tactless.

I agree. You can disagree with someone without being disrespectful and Wilson’s actions make him look far worse than Obama.

It was just horrible. Shame on him. Any one in his position should have self control.

The things people do when they feel powerless to be in control.

I agree. It was highly inappropriate. If he had comments to make, he should have made them outside the congressional chamber.
