Have you ever noticed the logo on packaging existing drugs you are taking medication, or you bought? Look closely at the packaging the drugs you buy. Drugs can be divided into 4 groups, namely:
1. OTC
OTC drugs are sold freely on the market and can be purchased without a prescription. Special mark on the packaging and label-free medicine is a green circle with a black border. Example: Paracetamol.
2. OTC Limited
OTC limited is the actual drug, including prescription drugs, but still can be freely sold or purchased without a prescription, and are accompanied by warning signs. Special mark on the packaging and label-free drug is limited to the blue circle with a black border. Example: CTM.
3. Prescription Drugs and Psychotropic Substances
Hard drugs are medicines that can only be purchased in pharmacies by prescription. Special mark on the packaging and label is the letter K in a red circle with a black border. Example: Mefenamic Acid. Psychotropic drugs are hard drugs either natural or synthetic is not a narcotic, a potent psychoactive through selective effects on the central nervous system that causes the typical changes in mental activity and behavior. Example: Diazepam, Phenobarbital.
4. Narcotic drugs
Narcotic drug is a drug derived from a plant or not plant either synthetic or semi synthetic which can cause a decrease or change of consciousness, loss of taste, it reduces to relieve pain and lead to dependence. Example: Morphine, pethidine.
