Non Violence Vs. Terrorism
Which is the best way to voice your views?
Terrorism is so deeply rooted in this world that no country can live in safety. Pakistan being its headquarters, it is the threat to all over the world. Since, it is present in a destabilized country. It is very important to get rid of this as soon as possible, since you never know when it will rule such a destabilized country. In addition, since Pakistan has nuclear power, danger becomes more prominent. The hatred for terrorism further deepened with recent attacks on Mumbai.
What is the solution?
Mostly feels that reformation of terrorists is not possible, the only solution is to kill every terrorist on this earth.
However, I feel that how many people we have to kill to wipe of this problem.
Do we have to kill hundred, thousand or millions of people? What is the number? Does anyone have any idea?
This is because if you only kill people who are involved in these activities, you are ignoring the situation as the people related to these people like their family members; their supporters, etc can become terrorists to take revenge. In today’s globalized world, no one is God and everyone is related to everyone else in someway or the other. Therefore, for completely finishing this chain of terrorism we have to kill every person on this earth. In short, we have to wipe of the whole humanity on this earth.
Now, this cannot be a solution, as annihilation of whole humanity in any case can never be the solution.
What is the solution?
I feel the only solution that exists is to follow the path of non-violence. At first glance, this solution may appear absurd. However, it is the only possible way to get rid of this problem.
How can we use non-violence as weapon to fight terrorism?
The best example from the history is the fight by Mahatma Gandhi for the independence of India.
However, to achieve such a feat you need to be mentally strong. You have to place your principles above all feelings and relations. A person holding a gun can never be strong; it is just a cowardly approach to a problem.
Remember that problems can only be solved and not killed.
Now, by using violence, problem makers killed but problem not solved. However, non-violence solves the problem as this involves convincing the other person that whatever they are doing is wrong. The person has to bear several painful moments; he may even die during this course. However, if this process carried on then the win is sure and long-lived.
History is such a great example. Until the 19th century, the boundaries of the world were changing more rapidly, due to violence by the rulers. The main aim of the rulers was to expand their kingdom as much as possible. Some were successful and went on become great like Alexander the great while some others were defeated.
However, what was the result?
All these kings died without living a sound life, all the time preparing for war for either invasion or defending. Now, if some wins a battle territory then that territory is lost during his reign only or after his reign. For example, Indian territories conquered by Alexander were lost once he died.
However, after World War II, it has seen that boundaries of the countries are becoming more and more stable. It has attributed to the fact countries are realizing that violence is not the solution of everything. USA despised although fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan to destroy terrorism and to bring stability to the nations. Above all, its own economy has weakened.
So, what is the use of this violence?
Person kills himself along with others. At least by non-violence, one can save humanity if not himself.
Now, the choice is yours.

If we keep on inventing bigger and better bombs and more efficient ways to kill each other, we could end up killing the whole human race. It would be much better to have everyone stop the insanity – but I don’t think that is going to happen any time soon.

I agree with you. Communication and negotiation is better than violence.
