One Disaffected Republican

Why the Republicans lost the Congress, why the Republicans will lose the Presidency, and how to stop this from happening.

Now the RNC and its affiliates are again hammering the faithful for more money to maintain the mediocrity, while a thorough housecleaning and reorganization are first in order. Perhaps the “faithful” should demand that an internal monitoring mechanism be established and insist that change continues until they get it right, before contributing.

The candidates and office holders alike should welcome these monitoring activities and housecleaning to take the onus off the candidates and show the voters the GOP is serious about making government run right. If this sounds like naive idealistic mutterings, then perhaps it’s time to reread some of the writings of the Founding Fathers and rediscover the foundation of this Republic. If that still doesn’t help, then I suggest those who cannot bring themselves up to the standards, quit politics altogether and start selling used cars.

This is one Republican who is tired of being identified with the ethically challenged in our society. What is it about having large amounts of money to throw around that turns some people into money grubbing nincompoops who lose their ethical bearings in an effort to influence their candidate in an election year? Too much money corrupts a campaign from within, and molds a candidate from without into that which neither he nor she intended.

The second Nixon campaign, and the over-reaching of the Committee to Re-elect the President (CRP) should have shown the RNC the influence of too much money handled irresponsibility. Memories are short, and new egos must be satisfied, so new lessons will have to be embedded continually. This is an excellent argument for a permanent and consistent monitoring system within or from without each party.

In the last election the voters spoke and the Republicans lost the Congress. If the Democrats win the Congress and the Presidency this election, then the whole cycle starts over again, until they get caught. The RNC needs to take immediate action to show the voters they are serious about working for the voters interests. Without serious action being taken the GOP may end up in the “desert” for 40 more years.

Hi there, very well written and comprehensive, we are in a good bit of trouble here with few good answers. My thought is that we need some sort of positive revolution in Congress, with a shake up that will prompt some definitive good for the people who are supposed to be served. There will be more revealed in the near future that will probably make what has happened in the past look mild in comparison, I am sorry to say. Hang on and think positively, we are going to need it.

“Quiet revolution,” great idea but not sure how it’s accomplished. Those in power guard their prerogatives jealousy, witness the campaign financing charades. I think that withholding money until the party’s scream is the only way to make an impact. Perhaps I’ve become too cynical.

    Thanks for the comment,
