Politics and people

Since the beginning of time humanity has known conflict and early scholars has written it on tablets and in scrolls. Throughout history there has been one conflict or another and nations and peoples have been conquered. No other place has this been more evident then in the Middle East. Turmoil has ravaged this land like no other on the planet. According to history modern day Palestine was inhabited by the Canaanites around 3rd millennium BC and from this point on the land has been under constant conquest. Politics and religion has played a major role in all the fighting and the fighting still continues to this day. Who is to say to whom the land belongs to and which people has the right to rule with autonomy? Does history or politics make that determination? Did politics create the instability in the region or is it that we can not help ourselves but to be conquers of land and people? Does the spoils really go the victor and if so, what becomes of our humanity and sense of self? These question and many more has been brought to front in the politics of the World lately and all the world politicians have their own opinions and suggestion how to end a century’s old conflict.

The United Nation is an international organization that describes itself as a global association of governments facilitating cooperation in international law, security and economic development and social equality {Source Wikipedia}. The UN has served the world community well and has been the center place for much conflict resolution throughout its history. The Cuban missile crisis was one of many and it did what it was intended for and the end of the world was averted. However, for as many crisis it has resolved and assisted in averting there is one that will not get completely resolved, the Arab and Israeli conflict. This conflict dates as stated before to the beginning of time and has still not been resolved. Politicians will pick sides and individuals will suffer and the conflict will linger on. And history will continue to be written and re-written as times goes on. Depending how far back in history someone wants to go, they will see why this conflict will have a hard time seeing an end. If one travels back enough to 1915 they will probably blame the British. The British after conquering the land and years of occupation had promised the land to Arabs while making secrete deals with France and Russia at the same time and with the Jews. But to lay blame solely on the British would be inexcusable because they conquered the land as many other nations had done prior to them. This land was exchanged, a nice word for conquered so many times that even history may not have all the pieces but one thing did come to bare, after World War II, this land would once again be the focus of future generations to come. The United Nation with all its wisdom after the atrocities of World War II granted the Israelites a homeland in Palestine in 1948 which the Palestinian objected to. And this particular part of history it’s where everything gets complicated and the lines get drawn in the sand. Depending whom you ask, the dialogue will be greatly diluted with their own personal view and history as they see it. And now politicians use the Middle East crisis for their own goals and aspirations and this became apparent when leaders of the world came together in the United Nation. The world focused on the UN to get a glimpse of world leadership and the leaders came to express themselves on the world stage.
