Questionable Judgement
Why we need Universal Health Care.
In no other time in our nations history has one political party dominated by the media, been so instrumental in beguiling the public that only through their extreme measures and philosophy can they themselves save America. The American public have become like sheep “being led to the slaughter” as our economy collapses around. So often we have heard from the leaders of the Republican party that the United States government and for that matter all state governments have a spending problem. So far with this equation all that has transpired within state houses across the country particularly in Republican controlled Administrations is a very false notion that budget cuts will produce effective and stable economies. When in fact, like in the state of Florida the exact opposite is occurring right now. Unemployment rates continue to rise while quality of life continues to fall.

What the Republican party and most of the main stream media fail to point out is that the United States for the past 35 years through policies established along the way have virtually extinguished the incomes that equate to the spending and supporting of all the public services that have been and are currently mandated by law. Governments don’t have a spending problem. What we actually have is an income crisis all through-out this country. Sure there are agencies that need to cut back but not to the point that the Republicans are now doing. No one, not even one public official has even come close to voicing this major flaw within all the rhetoric that has been spewing out of so many politicians as of late. Compounding our own economic crisis is the continued economic turmoil through-out Europe where countries like Greece are faced with a very bleak financial and economic future. Throw in our existing tax code, is another major hindrance is securing the much needed revenue to cover all the expenditures and budgets in states and in our federal government that would keep a level of stability. But no, the Republican run legislatures continue on their denial and apathy toward the general public by practically extorting the public at large with all the quickness that has eliminated much needed public services that maintain the publics safety. When this nation still hemorrhages over 9 million jobs just within this past year alone continues to push this nations health in serious jeopardy. Along with this mass extinction of employment opportunities there is now a abrupt upsurge of citizens who no longer have any health insurance at all. Today the number of individuals with-out health coverage is pushing to over 60 million Americans. Another sobering statistic is that one in five children continue to exist well below the poverty rate. That means that two thirds of the United States population either are living below the poverty level or are at the poverty level. The ability for forward momentum to rise above poverty in the United States continues to be non existent for so many millions today. The Affordable Health Care Act of 2010 has been a most lame attempt at procuring health care for the American public. All this Act did was exasperate the current conditions that millions are already faced with today. Business have found it becoming more expensive to provide health care coverage for employees causing to either contribute to the increasing unemployment rates or cut production or worse use less quality in the goods and services produced. All of which contributes to economic failure. This is just one more reason why this nation, the last remaining industrial country that doesn’t have Universal Health Care for all it’s citizens, needs to implement Universal Health Care. A single payer plan that insures every American Citizen. In other instances playing out all over the country by Republican Governors none is more of a blatant disregard for the safety and health of the populace than what is taking place in Florida. Governor Scott gutted the states water management districts by eliminating over 700 million dollars. By slashing that budget over 200 workers were laid off that’s not counting the thousands of other state workers that have already been added to the unemployment lines. This one major budget cut is just one example of how the Republican mind set is today. No longer concerned that by eliminating and gutting the Water Management Department is putting the health and safety of all Floridians in harms way by not funding the projects that ensure there is enough safe, clean, fresh water available, their only concern is reducing the size of government at any cost. Questionable judgement to say the least about our Republicans in office today. Ignorant and arrogant they have become. The callous behavior is which this past debt crisis kept America on edge, which by the way contributed to why S&P took the action that it did is proof that our government form state houses to the Federal level have become so inefficient to the real concerns of the majority of Americans today. If the American public permit and and succumb to the rhetoric and allow the necessary services that maintain public health, safety and contribute to the stability of economies be cut to the point that these programs and services no longer are able to function will effectively push this nation further away from the prominence that established America as the greatest industrialized nation we once were. It is time that the mainstream media and elected officials Republican, Democratic and other party affiliations focus on solutions needed to resolve the economic and social crisis that this country is faced with today. The reality today is so far removed from the hopes and dreams of so many millions that for those millions life is a day to day struggle for survival and existence. No longer able to even have an opportunity to pursue their dream but pushed into a reality of despair and anguish by policies they have no control over. The solutions are there. All we have to do is listen, read, and hear the voices of the American public that are screaming to be heard. But, too often are ignored by officials and the media who only listen to each other instead.
