Reforming Our Electoral Process

Reform is needed. Here is the prescription.

The clamor is out there, reform the electoral process. But what is the issue? Right now it is simple. The left can’t wait to get GWB out of the White House and they would pervert the whole system to get that like they did to win the election with the illegal campaign financing and fraudulent voter registration. If they thought they could install BO and MO in the White House now, they would consider killing GWB but alas that would not accomplish their goal. The problem is simple, that pesky document called the constitution. But then, the current left wing is not the only ones to have that problem with this pesky document, another liberal – FDR tried to pack the Supreme Court when the constitution frustrated his agenda. From the bench of the Supreme Court Ruth Bader Ginsburg has contended that this document can be changed by the Judiciary, another indication that the left considers this document a historic artifact if it prevents them advancing their agenda. The left’s agenda trumps the constitution.

Let’s look at some of the possible reforms to the electoral process and their ramifications.

Shorten the time between the election and the inauguration

At one time this was nearly four months it was reduced to about two and a half by the Twentieth Amendment from November 8, the latest Election Day, to January 20 rather than to March 4. Admittedly travel and communications are such that a president could easily take office less than five days after the election. This sounds like a great idea, it gets GWB out of the White House till you consider that a transition team and a cabinet must to be put together and this takes time. A new government must be ready to take over on the inauguration day. And BO is having problems. Heck, BO will never be ready to lead this nation. It is taking long because his left wing buddies want their payoffs for the money they flushed to get him elected. And his friends, accomplices and co-defendants in lawsuits may be in more trouble. He could possibly be ensnared in the Illinois mess. If he isn’t, I will believe Patrick Fitzgerald was turned. BO has to be a part of that mess. He was pushed up in Illinois politics, the dirtiest in the nation by the dirtiest people around. He has to be dirty, very, very dirty. What if BO were indicted on January 10? I do not believe the constitution would allow Joe Biden to take the oath on January 21. Thank God for that pesky constitution. It drives the liberals crazy. In addition, the congress reorganizes in the early days of January. It is wise to have a functioning legislative branch before the executive transition. But then, do we have a functioning legislative branch with Dirty Harry and Pelosi at the helm? Look that the Bush – Gore race in 2000. It took weeks to count the hanging chads, to bash the Democrat designed butterfly ballot and make it look like a Republican invention to keep stupid Democrats from registering proper votes, to figure out legal challenges hoping one would hit the jackpot and try to steal the election in any way possible. I saw on TV people trying t push out chads to prove they should have been counted! Fortunately with Al’s bumbling leadership he failed. Imagine this blithering idiot in the White House on 9/11. Don’t say he would have been better than Bush because even stupid liberals know that is not the truth. Let’s at least be honest with ourselves even if we can’t admit it. He would have been sitting with his head in his hands and saying, “Woe is me” or hunting for his blankie or yelling, “Tell them they can”t do that, I invented the internet’. We dodged the Gore bullet but then, he can’t shoot straight.

You have a viable solution. What the American people let happen to Al Gore a few years ago was unforgivable. That whole election should have been throwed out and done all over again. The deciding state was Bushes brothers, Florida. If the roles were reversed, would Bush not have wanted a re-election.

Actually hfj, that election was lost for Gore by the DEMNOCRATS in DADE COUNTY FLORIDA. He lost by 537 votes, all recounts were close to that number including two done by univeristies and newspapers. They were reported but months later, after the hype that Bush stole it.

The hanging chads was crap. I was in computers in the 60’s and worked with IBM card extensively. We used the hand punches – and I voted under that system while I was in IL.

If you replace the stylus that is used to punch when it gets dull, if you replace the rubber backing on the punches when it starts to get hard, there are no hanging chads. We were also instructed to look at the back of our card when we took it out of the machine to see that the holes were fully punched out. No hanging chad or dimpled chad should ever be counted as an indication of a voters wish more than a dot on a paper ballot that could be made by touching it with a pen or pencil should be construed as an X.

The butterfly ballot was also designed by a DEMOCRAT….

Please, Gore lost the election in FL, probably by a margin larger than 1500 votes, maybe as many as 5000. But we know for sure it was over 537, the lowest margin of any recount. One recount did look at other districts with discrepancies that Gore did not want recounted, these recounts gave even larger margins to bush. This was not the work of the State Government or Jeb Bush, but the work of the local counties. The biggest discrepancies were in Democrat run counties…. About half of it looked like fraud, the other half just plain incompetence or stupidity like not doing maintenance on the voting equipment.
