Republican or Democrat?

by nick mitchell in Politics, February 26, 2008

Facts about the two parties, but you’ll notice the one I’m rooting for.

When it come to the two great American parties. I go with republican all the way. And here’s why;

  1. I like low taxes.
  2. I know that the world will never be perfect. So I won’t waste money trying to make it that way.
  3. I believe in small government. I’m not letting big brother run my life.
  4. I believe in family values, and the government should keep its face out of our business.
  5. I think we should stay in Iraq to show the world that we are strong, and we will finish what we started.

I’d love to go over all of the reasons with you but I don’t want to make this article too long. So I’ll just name off a few things I don’t like about democrats;

  1. Free transportation, education, and health care will require very high taxes, now that’s just bad economics you liberals.
  2. Abortion is murder plain and simple.
  3. If someone kills multiple people, we should kill them back.
  4. Our borders must be strong; we can’t let the whole world in.
  5. Welfare shouldn’t be an occupation, it should be a stepping-stone for the unemployed.

Consider these facts carefully and tell me: Which are you? A republican or a democrat?

    I subscribe to no party or its idealogy.Taxes. Reagan and Bush both Republcans gave us two hugh tax increases.We only donate money to a country so A they can buy military weapons from U.S. corporations or B so we can put a military base in said country.
    Goverment has grown under every Republican President.
    Bush the Republican has corrupted every part of the constitution.
    Republicans know nothing of family values.
    Iraq was stupidity beyond belief and both Bush and Chenny should be tried for war crimes and high treason.

    If someone kills multiple people, we should kill them back.

    I know this is your opinion, but I have to disagree. Didn’t you learn the Golden Rule in kindergarten? Treat others as you would like you be treated. How much of a bigger person are we if we retatliate as such?

    I know no one probably cares, but here’s my opinions on your opinions.

    Pros on Republicans:

    1. I agree.

    2. The world may never be perfect. It especially won’t be perfect if conservative people don’t believe in progress. It may never be perfect, but it can be better.

    3. I very much agree. The Patriot Act and Big Brother suck.

    4. Family values are good. I don’t think gays should be allowed to get married because marrige is more of a religious term. They should be able to have something because it’s just two people that love each other which would be immoral to not allow, but if religions don’t want gays to be “married” then we should force them to let gays use their word.

    5. It’s good to be strong, but this war can’t be justified under a just war theory. We had legitamate authority, a just cause, a prospect of successs, but the Iraq War did not have political propotionality and it certainly was not a last resort. Under the Just War Theory. We didn’t have Political Proportionality because America spends 625 billion dollars a year on the military which is over 125 billion more than the entire world combined. For this I have to disagree, wars have a hugely negative impact on the world. I don’t know what would happen if we pulled out, but I can say that a terrorist invasion is not the real issue. Peak Oil and other environmental problems will literally fry or starve us if we don’t act soon.

    Cons on Democrats

    1. Free Education, Health, and Transporation would cost a lot! But even if we gave the maximum amount to every citizen even if they could afford it themselves wouldn’t come even close to what the military costs in America. If we put more taxes on the rich, cut back the military costs, and eliminated taxes on the poor these three factors would provide an immense, unimaginable growth for the American economy. If everyone were educated, healthy, and didn’t have to spend so much on gas everyday we’d see a tremendous level of growth without raising taxes. So for that I disagree.

    2. Abortion is murder. Murder is wrong, but the death of a mother if the child might kill her is also wrong. We’ve murdered millions of Iraqis. Men let Trillions of sperm cells die thoughout their lifetimes and women let an egg die once a month. We torture and murder millions of animals every year for food. Yes, abortion is killing, which is wrong, but so many different things die all the time. Abortion is wrong, but it has to be permissible occasionally. A huge flaw in both Republicans and Democrats is that they’re either Pro-War and Anti-Abortion or Pro-Abortion and Anti-War. Both are hypocrits in a way. So for that I semi-agree/disagree.

    3. I agree. If guilty people kill innocents then it would be immoral not to kill them back. And Carl, the Diamond rule isn’t that great. It should be “Treat others as they would like to be treated”.

    4. I agree. The borders should be strong on both Canada and Mexico. We can’t let everyone in. We should however significantly reduce the military budget to that of a defensive military so we have more money to help other people in other countries so that they don’t want to leave.

    5. I sort of agree and disagree. Welfare can’t be an occupation, but neither can being homeless with no money. If we were going to get rid of Welfare then the people on welfare need jobs, all of them. Most people would like a job and would not like to be on Welfare, but they can’t find a job and support themselves and their families.

    Haha, guess which side I’m on, I’m generally hard to classify.

    The trouble with Republican thinking is that is simplistic. How are we more free by attacking Iraq? How does it keep us free? We had the terrorists holed up in Afghanistan and allowed them to escape. Whose marvelous plan was that? After chasing them all over Afghanistan, we decide to attack Iraq for other reasons which had nothing to do with Al-quaida. Whose brainstorm was that? Most simple minded people think small government is good until the lack of regulations (which are kept by government) affects them in some way (like poison in Tylenol, or mad-cow disease, or bad imports from China, and the list goes on and on), then they are for increased government. If we left capitalists do whatever they want, half of us will starve, it’s as simple as that. Vote Democrat, it’s your only chance.

    Family values mean absolutely nothing to republicans. A prime example is how mccain dropped his first wife like a sack of hot potatos when he came home from Vietman. GO OBAMA!!!
