Some Fundamentalist Christians Now Call Obama The Anti-christ
With the racist flare hitting the roof against Obama and his wife Michell among Americans, it would not surprise anybody that they now call him the Anti Christ.
Barrack Obama may have won the Nobel Peace Prize Award and a whooping $10,000,000 to go with the accolade but back home, there is a latent hate-love relationship that exists between Obama and a cross section of Americans. Not so long ago, some right wing conservative Christians had the ignobility of calling Obama the “Anti Christ” that has been let lose on Americans. Some of them have gone as far as to assert that Obama is not an American because he was not born in America.

I expected this to come because Americans either voted Obama out of the extreme dislike for George Bush or they probably didn’t place their true racial instincts where it really belonged in the recent election year. As I write this article from the shores of Lake Victoria where Obama’s father used to swim, every day that passes increases my fear for Barrack Obama’s life. I have said before and I would like to say it again, that Americans are a very difficult civil society to manage because whereas there are many moderates and really straight thinking individuals in that land, there are also extremists who espouse supremersist and hateful views againsts other races.
When I learnt recently that Gun wielding men approached a Town Hall meeting Assembly where Obama was addressing his supporters on the Health care reform policy, my fears were only confirmed about the fate that is awaiting Obama as he roles his presidency into the first year. Americans may pretend they are not racists, but race runs in every human being-the extreme racial heterogenity that has saturated the American Socety is indeed something that warrants understanding, because human beings have a tendency to gravitate towards or against certain races. For a white man to hate Obama should not be surprising, but what I find hypocritical is why they allowed him to to be their Presidentin the first place! Leaders are chosen by God, hence if American Christians are now up in arms, calling Obama an Anti-Christ, then they invalidate their own belief in the widely held christian traditional belief that leaders are chosen by God.
The dilema of Obama in dealing with Americans as a strong but fair leader will certainly earn him a lot of name callings. His views on abortion and gay rights will be hailed and loathed at the same time. Recently he was attempting to address himself to the existing policy that ostracises openly confessed gay men and women from the US Military. He wants to undo obtaining policies that gug gays. Undoing these policies will please gays no doubt, but it will do damage to his realtionship with christian fundamentalists. His latest attempt to endorse a more liberal policy on cannabis will even increase his posture as an anti-christ. He needs a lot of prayers, I hope the same Christian Fundamentalists will say a prayer for the President.
