Oakland is the city that gave birth to the Black Panther Party, so it should be a given that the next generations thereafter would place four of the most powerful videos in a top 10 list. Always simply known as “The Black Panther of Hip-Hop,” Paris is still going strong today touring and bringing his Guerilla Funk to heads with an ear to listen.

Classic songs such as “The Days of Old,” and “Outta My Life,” capture P at his most brilliant point, breaking down the ills of social disintegration, but his 1994’s Guerilla Funk stands as his crowning achievement.

The East coast had Chuck D, but the West coast had Paris.

In what is called the last revolutionary video produced by a hip-hop artist, 17 years later Paris’s controversial video resonates with a chilling narrative of what was to come- Prophetic storytelling at its finest.
