The Gulf and an American Wake Up Call
My ideas for the Gulf region and how they relate to the broken heart of America.
Now these are just a few ideas that might work, might be feasible, and might be inoffensive; but they are just that, ideas. We hear empty promises that things will get better but they do not. Had Gustav been a direct hit to New Orleans the levees would have failed and people would be worse off than they already were. The same could be said for the homeless situation in America, the mortgage situation, and countless other tragedies that can be avoided or helped. The problem is we are not important to the political interests of the powers at be. We are nothing more than votes and in that we have lost our voice.
The Gulf is a wake up call for us to retake our nation no matter the cost and to make our voices once again heard. We have an opportunity to make this come true during this time of chaos and light-weight political action figures. We must demand our voice be heard no matter what our voice says. Americans must again be first on the agendaof the American Government.
But what will it take for you to wake up? How far down do we have to go before we get rid of this stupidity we call our government and replace it with the one we were meant to have? I might be a fool but I still believe that a poor man can lead this nation. I still believe that a man with no college education can lead us. Most importantly I still believe that Americans will once again be the most important agenda in the American Government. I still think that the time will come that if you are rich, powerful, powerless, homeless, a Muslim, a Christian, a whore, or a child; you will be an American and thus your voice will be heard.
Enough with this government of the powerful, by the rich, and for the pocketbook; it is for you, it is for me, it is for us.
Katrina was a wake up call; do not hit the snooze.
