The Liberal Democrats
10 months into power sharing between the Lib Dems & the Conservatives, I take a look at the rocky road that the Lib Dems find themselves in & I argue, that Society is not being fair to Nick Clegg in particular.

Following the people’s decision to not endorse in full one particular party of government in the United Kingdom, I watched with huge interest as the story unfolded. For me the joint announcement in the No 10 garden, particularly the joke and Nick Clegg saying “I am off then and David Cameron saying “Come Back” was for me one of the funniest moments in British Politics, under Gordon Brown there had been nothing to smile about.
Nick Clegg was declared the winner of the debates, but since becoming Deputy Prime Minister, it is a complete role reversal and David Cameron is very definitely the strong leader. That said I hated the Liberal Party with a vengeance, but now my view is putting left and right together is good for the country in these difficult times.
I actually feel a little sorry for Nick Clegg, he has his colleagues former leaders Messrs Campbell and Kennedy constantly sniping, Kennedy voted against the coalition. What world are these two on, the liberals got less seats, but they had this opportunity to share power, something the Lib Dem members would have been denied under Kennedy. Kennedy and Campbell have had there day, they have little left to offer that will enhance their party. Campbell behind the statesman like veneer is a rather nasty, unpleasant politician.
I believe that Nick Clegg deserves a lot of credit for taking the plunge, I believe the coalition has reignited people’s interest in politics and that most sane people want the coalition to work. So Campbell and Kennedy are worried about the polls, just 12%, but that 12% in my opinion is rock solid, and their poll rating will improve, once some credit is given to them as well as the conservatives for turning this country around.
