The Party of Contradiction
by The Democratic Party’s pathetic attempts at representing both the “little guy” and the environment.
The Democratic Party is the self-proclaimed party of the environment and of the ‘little guy.’ This is contradictory because everything the left does to help the environment hurts the ‘little guy’ by higher taxes, and higher gas and housing prices.
Democrats demand that housing prices be brought down so ‘little guys’ can all have affordable housing. However, they also enact restrictive land-use laws, decreasing the supply of land available for housing without changing its demand, thus increasing its prices.
Liberals in Congress have shown they have no plans to do anything about exorbitant prices of oil which their taxes and regulations brought about. They claim that alternative fuels, which either increase the price of food (ethanol) or are impractical and unaffordable (hydrogen, wind, solar), will kick America’s ‘addiction’ for oil.
Liberals refuse to lower taxes, and they like the idea of a Carbon tax, which would tax fuels based upon their Carbon content. That means higher gas prices, stretching the little guy’s budget even more.
Democrats don’t represent the ‘little guy’ at all. Then again, who would want to be associated with bitter people clinging to guns and religion?

It’s about time someone put this concept in writing. I’ll continue to cling to my guns and religion.

Your insight is so excellent. The Clinton-era lefties are responsible for the zero-down loan laws too. This misguided legislation to help little guys put the whole economy in crisis. To fix that fiasco the Democrats gave away TARP money. That money funded bonuses for failed wall-street bank executives. Why can\’t the Democrats see that their free lunch approach keeps back-firing? Now the Democrats are ramming a free-lunch economic stimulus package through congress. Absolutely every Replication voted no. Get a clue Democrats!
