The Ulsterman Report: A Metaphor for The Death of The Republican Party

Yep, I said it. Death. Everything has its time and the Republican’s time has come. Ulsterman, an often odd and controversial writer for the Triond group sums it up with every off the wall head line and unbelievable, sensational, fear-mongering article. Death for the Republican party in two words, three syllables. Tea-Party.

The Tea-party holds many things dear that the foundations of the Republican party was built on-states rights over federal, conservative family values that often means Christianity, and fiscal conservatism. What it doesn’t seem to have is the ability to function in our present form of government. The problem with this wing of the Republican party is the absolute lack of ability to compromise. They actually see that as their biggest asset, the best trait they have, and so did the voting public in the last US election. No give on any ground, no matter how small. The result? Government has ground to a halt in many states, and soon on the federal level as the debt ceiling looms less than a month away and  the federal budget once again undecided. The tea party sits in a corner like a sulking child screaming ‘NO!’ while the only work that actually gets done will be by the group most likely to try to meet others in the middle. In a democracy good legislation is that which no one interest group will particularly like, but that which no one will completely hate either.   A compromise.

The American people, a fickle lot at best, will take out there frustration on those they perceive to be behind their misfortune. In this case it will be the party in power of the legislative branch, the Republicans. It won’t matter that the Republicans aren’t all cut from the same Tea Party cloth. It will only matter that the voters blame them and vote them away. Ulsterman doesn’t realize it, but his fear mongering and sensational headlines about the destruction of life as we know it because of a Democratic President won’t just get a different president. It will get us a whole new party in our two party system. The do nothing but bitch about it Tea Party party. When they comprise the entirety of the Republican Party the Democrats will easily win back both houses and the presidency, because really, who is going to vote for a bunch of whiner babies?

I’ve always wondered just what sort of idiots believed this “report”. Hasn’t he predicted that, by this moment in time, everyone in the Obama Administration would be in jail and Obama has been forced out of office?

Not much of an “insider”, is he? Unless you only count the inside of his head . . ..

I’m a Republican through and through but I have nothing against anybody.
