Three Post-Zionist Myths

This article debunks three myths from Post-Zionism, which is an existential threat to Israel’s national will to defend itself.

Post-Zionism is a threat to Israel’s national will to defend itself. It creates lies and includes the New Historians, who, while claiming to be giving the real history of Israel, still spew out lies that blame little Democratic Israel, not the genocidal Arab rejectionists.

Myth#1

Israel should no longer be a Jewish state; but instead should focus on more democratic ideals.

Truth

Israel was created to be the Jewish state in response to the Jews’ seeking to return to their homeland and to the constant persecution Jews faced around the world during the Diaspora, which included the notorious Holocaust. Israel is already a democratic state and is the only true democracy in the region. Everybody [including Arabs and other non-Jews] has equal rights. Yes, there is racism in Israeli society, like there is in any other democracy. But the fact is that Israel, like any other imperfect democracy, discourages and fights racism. The Jews are a people with a national identity. So Israel should remain a Jewish state. The call to make Israel no longer a Jewish state is essentially to call for its destruction, something that Iran, Syria, Arab states, the PA [Palestinian Authority] and their terrorist armies seek to achieve.

Myth #2

Israel expelled at least some of the Arab refugees in order to get a Jewish majority.

Truth

Contrary to Post-Zionists and their “historian” faction the New Historians, the concept of transfer was not part of any Zionist ideology. It was not used to get a Jewish majority. As scholars like Ephraim Karsh show, Zionist leaders actually repeatedly called for co-existence with the Arab population and even repeatedly stated that they’d get equal rights. It’s true that Zionists sought to get a Jewish majority, but not through transfer. Zionists sought to do it by encouraging immigration and by making land purchases [or building legally on land owned by no one]. In fact, the Zionist project actually benefited the Arabs who lived there. And it was the economic development by Jewish settlers that played a big role in encouraging more Arabs to come to a land that was well-known as a wasteland. The Arab refugee problem was caused by Arab leadership’s and the Arab states’ opposition to the creation of the Jewish state.

Many of the Arab refugees fled because of encouragement from Arab governments. Some fled in order to not be caught in the war. Most of the Arab refugees who fled were not expelled by Israel. It’s true that in a handful of cases, Israel did expel some of the refugees. It was not to get a Jewish majority. It was in strategic areas in order to save besieged Jews, to deny a strategic area to rejectionist Arab terrorists, to protect the convoys that sought to aid Jews in Jerusalem and in other strategic areas that was vital for Israel’s survival. At the same time, in many cases, Jewish leaders unsuccessfully attempted to encourage many of the Arab refugees to stay. So Israel did not expel anyone to get any majority. In fact, the Arab population in Israel grew in Israel, just like it did while the Jews rebuilt the holy land. The Arabs who did remain in Israel are the freest Arabs in the region.

Myth #3

Israel won the 1948 war because it was stronger than the invading Arab armies, not because of any national determination.

Truth

Actually, the Arab armies were stronger and outnumbered the Jews. The British General Montgomery, at the time, predicted that Israel would only last two weeks. The international community was shocked that Israel managed to survive. Before the New Historians and other anti-Israel propagandists twisted the events and root cause of this bloody conflict, it was well-known that the invading Arab armies were stronger than Israel. The reason why Israelis won was because they had something that is under siege by the Israeli leftists including by Post-Zionism, national will. The Israelis knew that they fought for the existence of the Jewish people on their historic homeland. That’s why Israel managed to win the war.

There are many other myths by Post-Zionism. But this is three of them that I debunked. Post-Zionism is an existential threat to Israel’s national will to defend itself. It dominates Israeli Universities. Like the leftists at home in America, leftists in Israel including the Post-Zionists verbally attack their own country in times of war.
