Time Magazine’s Attack on "Ignorant America"

Time Magazine’s Joe Klein frets over "diseased" American society as voters prepare to sweep Democrats from Congress.

Joe Klein is a liberal.  Not just your run of the mill I loved JFK liberal mind you.  No, Joe Klein is among the current crop of left coast New York media liberalism -petulant, complaining, casting blame on everyone and everything for the Democratic Party’s current and stunning demise except of course, himself and his ilk.  Klein’s disgust toward the upcoming midterm elections is made abundantly clear in his most recent Time Magazine column.  Joe Klein, like so many others within the left-leaning media, is now openly gnashing his teeth at the American voter.

“How dare they!” he and others in the liberal media now proclaim to these voters.

Klein’s frustration is such though, that he takes it a bit further.  Via his Time Magazine column, Joe Klein calls Americans ignorant, lost, overly idealistic, and dangerously naive.  All of these terms Klein so willingly uses regarding Americans – but where were these claims in 2008 when these same voters gave an untested, secretive, dubious and inexperienced candidate the keys to the White House?  The absence of Klein’s admonishment of the voter in 2008 reveals the immature silliness and petty ideology that permeates his admonishment now, when Democrats, and some Republicans, are being rightfully rebuked by voters in 2010.  Voters who are finally concerned over the massive increases in government spending and intrusions into their daily lives.

What liberals like Joe Klein refuse to accept is that their far left version of liberalism is far removed from mainstream America.  Hell, it’s far removed from even mainstream liberalism.  Idealistic. Ignorant. Lost. Naive.  Those are words Joe Klein should be all too familiar with, for they so aptly describe himself and his warbling colleagues at Time, Newsweek, the New York Times, etc.

Enjoy November 3rd Joe Klein.

I know I, and the other “ignorant” American voters surely will…

I love the WAY you write but I loved what you said in this article, as well. The leadership in this country is a mess. Good–no, great article.

“ignorant, lost, overly idealistic, and dangerously naive” That is an accurate statement, but not the way he means it though. That is exactly why our government is being run the way it is, because of ignorant, lost, idealistic and naive Americans believing the crap politicians spew. Our country will swing from right to left and back until people wake up, pay attention to what’s going on, read the Constitution, inform themselves and most importantly HOLD ELECTED OFFICIALS ACCOUNTABLE. Until that happens things will continue to get worse. America is like the Roman Empire, just with more stadiums.
