Usa Politics : Should Obama Give Speech for Schools

The U.S.A constitution grants all its non-citizens and citizens the freedom of speech. President Obama is just making use of the similar guaranteed freedoms like the rest of the country. The disparity between the inhabitants of the state and Obama is that the President is assured a channel owing to his power. However, whether Obama should give speech for school students is highly controversial.

The former First Lady, Laura Bush, however, supported President Obama on the subject of giving speech in schools. Her support was greatly welcomed by the White House. On the other hand, many conservatives claim that Obama’s speeches, in reality are brainwashing the school students.

In one of his speech, Obama said that if a student gives up school, then he is not only giving up on himself, but also deserting his country. He also said that there is no justification for not making an effort. He told students not to be scared of asking questions or requesting for assistance.

Laura Bush asserted that President Obama was certainly doing the right thing by speaking to students, conflicting that all Presidents must advise American kids to continue schooling and read the books.

Laura Bush, herself being a former educator said that according to her all United States Presidents should address the school students and give confidence to them. She also added that all individuals must persuade their kids to attend school and to perform well in their studies. Everyone should encourage their children to accomplish their dreams.

In spite of the opposition from many parents as well as the conservative critics, Obama went forward with his proposal to team talk with the students of Wakefield High School inside the gym. The session was broadcasted in classrooms countrywide.

There was a huge uproar stirred owing to a document from an education department on the speech, suggesting students to write down their views about how one can assist the President. Republicans accused Obama of playing dirty politics. Later, that particular line was removed from the recommended session plan made by DOE.

Thus, the question, whether Obama should give speech for school students is highly debatable.

I don’t think he should get himself and the Federal government involved in local education. Our schools are run by local school boards and they can handel the education of our kids “our way” without obama sticking his nose into it. Dosen’t he have enough to do without telling us how to educate our children?

Why not? He was ; a student, He moved up through the same system to where he is currently so, with his tenacity and intellectual abilities, if with his busy schedules, he could find out time to the schools, I would say hurray.Obama is a leader and as leader that is well deserved I would suggest that he speak to our children in school in every level if he has the time.
    Thanks.

While I may not be a fan of Obama, i do believe that his idea to give a speech to schools is a grand thing, the only thing that worries me is whether or not he will bring politics into it. If Obama only gives a speech for education (not commenting on either government education nor private education, nor commenting on either republican or democrat motives) then I will have no problem with it, but as soon as he brings in government or politics, I am against the speech.

It would be unrealistic to believe that politics would not be somehow seeded throughout the speech. He is after all a politician and like all politicians has an agenda…the thing we need to ask ourselves as parents is whether or not we believe that our school systems are the proper platform in which our children should be bombarded by a politicians (whether it be a president or not) propaganda.
